Dear support team,
When I updated to 4.8.4 I could not be able to edit some elements in the builder layout i.e.:
– Special Heading
– CatalogueIt shows just blank (no way to edit)
Could you please advise what happens or at least how to go to previous version (4.8.3) temporarily until we find the solution?
Thank you beforehand for your prompt attention and support,
George
July 23, 2021 at 6:03 am #1311722Hi George,
Sorry for the problem. We can try to fix this for you if you provide us with admin WordPress login details in private. Make sure that the Appearance->Editor functionality is active on your installation. If it’s not, or if you should prefer to roll back to 4.8.3, then please provide us with FTP login details as well, and verify that you have backups of the site.
Best regards,

July 25, 2021 at 7:08 am #1312163Hi George,
Thanks for that. Could you share FTP login details in private as well, so that we can try to upload our bug fix version to your site please?

RikardJuly 25, 2021 at 7:09 am #1312164Hi Autopilot,
Sorry for the problem. We are planning a release for bug fixes tomorrow. If you could roll back until that is available, then I would recommend that you do that.

RikardJuly 25, 2021 at 8:32 am #1312180Thanks Rikard. Exactly what i need to hear. Btw, I am not a technical business owner. My understanding is that – with each update, you simply replace over all the files in the theme folder (generally you do not leave any residue files after each update, any redundant files will be removed by default?) Which also means if i like, i can also wait for version 4.8.5 later and skip this 4.8.4 altogether, is that correct? Do you see any problem with this approach. Cos i just spent quite a bit of time with my host rolling back the server, so i am not going to do this again so soon should I hit another snag. ; )

Thanks for the update. We released a new version (4.8.5) of the theme yesterday, could you please try updating to that first of all?
Best regards,
RikardJuly 27, 2021 at 5:31 am #1312580Hi Autopilot,
That is correct. When the theme is updated, all files are simply replaced by the new ones, and no old files should be left in their place. We have released the new version (4.8.5) with bug fixes now, could you try updating to that please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.

Thanks for the update. I’m not sure what you mean by this:
You will see it .. check for instance in the portfolio items and open the first one.
Could you try to explain a bit further, and let us know how to reproduce the problem on your site please?
Best regards,
RikardJuly 28, 2021 at 9:54 am #1312980Hello Rikard,
How could I send you a screenshot for instance?
In other words, you can easily go and create a new portfolio / post / page.
Then insert for example the “Special Heading” element.
Then open/click in the element and see that it is not able to edit. It shows blank.
Please let me know if you need any further explanation about the problem.
Kind regards,
GeorgeJuly 30, 2021 at 6:15 am #1313375Hi George,
I tried to check your site and the reason why it’s showing blank is that the server is returning an error 500 (in the web console).
It works properly if the Ultimate Member plugin is turned off.
Can you try to increase the memory limit and see if it helps?Best regards,
NikkoJuly 30, 2021 at 9:14 am #1313388Hi Nikko,
Thank you for letting me know.
I tried to make it 2048M and even 5000M for testing and still not.
So the plugin who is getting this conflict is ultimate member.
I’m trying to find a solution now if an alternative of this plugin should resolve this.
Although in 4.8.3 version it was working. Still I do not know why happens this..If you have any other advise I would appreciate it.
Kind regards,
GeorgeJuly 30, 2021 at 10:13 am #1313405Hi George,
Please revert the live site to Enfold 4.8.3.
Then please create a staging site, so we can check further on the issue without affecting your live site.
Here’s a simple tutorial on how to create a staging site: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-staging-site/Best regards,
NikkoJuly 30, 2021 at 11:42 am #1313431All right Nikko, thank you.
Please give me access to 4.8.3 version. How could I download this version ?
I will then follow the guide for creating a staging site.
