    Hi
I just updated the enfold theme. The website doesn’t display anymore and I can’t even get back to the dashboard.

There are two messages that comes up
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/pen32930/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/classes/class.ls.popups.php on line 173

Fatal error: Declaration of avia_sc_comments_list::shortcode_handler() must be compatible with that of aviaShortcodeTemplate::shortcode_handler() in /home/pen32930/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/comments.php on line 14

PLease advise how I can fix it. I can get into the cpanel and files that way.

I don;t have the latest wp version and planned to upgrade after upgrading the theme.
I hope you can help me.
    Thanks.
    Kerstin

    Hey mind,
Try to update manually via FTP: https://vimeo.com/67209750
    Or: http://kriesi.at/archives/the-complete-guide-to-updating-enfold
If that still gives you the LayerSlider error you can try down grading to your last version via FTP, or updating Word Press via FTP: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-manually-update-wordpress-using-ftp/
Make sure to save a copy and don’t update “wp-config.php” it tells Word Press how to connect to your database. You can use the File Manger in cPanel in place of FTP :)

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi!

Please contact your hosting provider and ask them to upgrade your PHP version, preferably to PHP 7 and minimum 5.6. That should solve the issue.
