The layerslider should be on the homepage but it isn’t showing. This happened after I installed the most recent enfold update to the parent theme. Help! Thank you

    Hi bobfurgo,

I can see this js error in the web console:

Uncaught TypeError: createElementButton.live is not a function

Can you give us FTP access as well?

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi bobfurgo,

Thanks for providing the FTP access.
I have modified wp-config.php (the code is in private content), I have changed it from http to https
Then layerslider.utils.js was missing so I added it and it fixed the issue with the layerslider.
Though I could still see the js error I pointed out in the backend, maybe some files are corrupted or not added during the update, please try to re-update.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

thanks so much! Ok, so I should just try to reupdate fia FTP? That won’t overwrite what you just did will it?

    Hi bobfurgo,

Yes, or you could do this step after making a backup (updating via FTP is bit too slow, updating via cPanel is better since you can upload a zip file and extract it):
    1. Login to ThemeForest and download the Enfold theme, right-click over the downloaded zip file and extract/unzip it.
    2. It should generate a new folder, open it and look for the enfold folder
    3. Right-click the enfold folder then zip it, here’s a tutorial on how to create a zip file in windows: https://www.howtogeek.com/668409/how-to-zip-and-unzip-files-on-windows-10/ (this should create enfold.zip
    4. Log in to WordPress as and Admin.
    5. Install and activate a maintenance plugin and put your site in Maintenance mode.
    6. Go to Appearance > Themes, switch to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty then delete Enfold.
    7. Click on the ADD NEW button.
    8. Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
    9. Click BROWSE and choose enfold.zip file
    10. Click the INSTALL NOW button and switch to Enfold or your child theme.
    11. Remove the maintenance mode then deactivate and remove the maintenance plugin.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

thank you! Is it necessary to activate the maintenance plugin? or can i just skip that?

    Hi bobfurgo,

If your site has a lot of visitors then we suggest using a maintenance plugin so they can see that your site is currently performing maintenance.
Otherwise, it’s not really needed and you can just skip it.

    Best regards,
    Nikko
