Hi,
I have a super simple question. I received an email from the Envato Market that there is an update to the Enfold theme. When I log into my WordPress site and go to the Updates section, it says that my theme is all up to date. Do I have to download Enfold theme updates manually from ThemeForest? Or can they be automatically downloaded through my WordPress site?
Thanks in advance,
VictoriaJanuary 17, 2018 at 6:29 pm #898602Hello. You can either wait for it to appear in your dashboard or you can pull it down from Themeforest immediately and upload via FTP. Hopefully you have a Child Theme in place to preserve any changes you made to the theme.?
January 17, 2018 at 6:31 pm #898603Numerous people have already complained about this. I have about a half dozen sites and NONE of them show the auto update. You would think it would show up there first! Still waiting. I don’t want to mess with FTP…why should I?
January 17, 2018 at 6:33 pm #898605We’re in the same boat, but I will say that FTP is actually the safest way to upgrade.

You can check this complete guide teaching how to update the Enfold theme: https://kriesi.at/archives/the-complete-guide-to-updating-enfold

January 17, 2018 at 6:51 pm #898626I think we all know how to update Enfold. It is the theme that has the issue if no auto updates are showing and manual ones don’t show a need for one.
January 17, 2018 at 6:55 pm #898631@elames – No affiliation with Enfold whatsoever. Talk to people with a little more respect. Your complaining in multiple threads is getting really old…fast.
January 17, 2018 at 7:36 pm #898640I didn’t get the update notice in WP admin either, says I am already updated.
I don’t think we should have to FTP the update, the purpose of the Theme Options is to just install the new update as is the case with other themes. Why would it be safer to FTP the theme, when FTP itself can be vulnerable.
I don’t think asking questions is being ” disrespectful” in any way.
Lets be realistic instead to improve the product.I would appreciate the Change Log to see if there are any bugs in the new update, before I go to the trouble of FTP’ing the theme which could be futile in the end.
For instance, was the Layerslider plugin code updated also? Was the front page video fixed to actually work? Was the mobile menu fixed? I’ve been waiting for this for months.Questions resolve problems.
January 20, 2018 at 4:38 pm #900126Hi,
I believe the confusion about the updates comes from how the updates are first released to Theme Forest as a soft update, and a few days later they are available to the user’s dashboard via the Theme Forest API. In some rare cases there are issues with the API, whether it is timed out, response error, issue with the key, etc.
Please feel free to wait a few days for the update to show in your dashboard.
Here is the Change LogBest regards,

January 22, 2018 at 10:53 pm #901012Hi,
I’m glad the update is now showing. Did you need additional help, or shall we close this thread.
Best regards,
