    Make sure you implement a Child Theme and as always, have a good, very recent backup of your site.

    Hi johnfelipe,

    Like accurIT Presence wrote a backup and a child theme should be enough. Updating the site on a staging version first would be a good idea as well. If you want to bring your precautions even further then I would recommend that you run Visual Regression Testing and automatised testing on the site as well.
