Hello, I would like to update from a very old version (3.8) to 4.7. Is there anything I need to consiuder. I recently switsched from PHP 5.6 to PHP v4.7 and since then the olkd Enfold version is no longer working in the wp-backend.
Many thanks for your support.February 2, 2021 at 11:01 am #1277056Hey Chris2234,
First backup your site:
– Site Backup: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/backup-wordpress-site/
– Theme Settings Backup: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/backup-theme-settings/Then do the following steps:
1. Login to ThemeForest and download the Enfold theme, right-click over the downloaded zip file and extract/unzip it.
2. It should generate a new folder, open it and look for the enfold folder
3. Right-click the enfold folder then zip it, here’s a tutorial on how to create a zip file in windows: https://www.howtogeek.com/668409/how-to-zip-and-unzip-files-on-windows-10/ (this should create enfold.zip
4. Log in to WordPress as and Admin.
5. Install and activate a maintenance plugin and put your site in Maintenance mode.
6. Go to Appearance > Themes, switch to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty then delete Enfold.
7. Click on the ADD NEW button.
8. Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
9. Click BROWSE and choose enfold.zip file
10. Click the INSTALL NOW button and switch to Enfold or your child theme.
11. Remove the maintenance mode then deactivate and remove the maintenance plugin.Register the theme by following the instructions in https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Once this is done, the next time you update, you’ll only need to go to Enfold > Theme Updates and click on the Update button.Best regards,

for some reason the left navigation-sidebar is not showing on the enfold settings page. Therefore I cannot export a backup. Is it possible to reach the import/export page with a direct url (via url parameters)?

Thanks for giving us admin access.
I could see the issue, that’s because it’s still using 3.8, once you have done the procedures mentioned above you should be able to see the Theme Options Menu.Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 9, 2021 at 11:27 am #1279003I need to use the theme option menue in order to backup the theme settings. Is there an alternative way to export the theme settings?
February 9, 2021 at 12:05 pm #1279017Hi Chris2234,
I see, there’s no other option for that.
I tried to access your site again with the credentials however it does not work, can you give us temporary admin access again? so we can try to display the theme options menu.Best regards,

NikkoFebruary 14, 2021 at 11:38 am #1280394Thank you Nikko. I followed your instructions and the update went smoothly!
Hower, I have one more problem: When I navigate to a specific section on the font-page via an “absolute URL” the associated content does not load.
P.S. For some reason I can no longer define an alternative menu for mobile devices in the backend.- This reply was modified 3 years, 10 months ago by Chris2234.
February 17, 2021 at 5:22 am #1281583Hi Chris2234,
I tried the credentials you gave but it does not work, please check.
When I tried to reach the section via the URL, I noticed that #referenzen was changed to # for some reason, that why it does not go to the correct location.Best regards,
