On several websites with different host providers, we get the error message:
An error occurred when Enfold was updated: Download failed. A valid URL was not specified
What to do?

An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. Problem downloading theme=====
October 24, 2018 at 5:46 pm #1026019I’m having the same issue. Got this warning when I did the update:
An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. Problem downloading theme.
HELP!I’m curious if we should enable Gutenberg before doing the update. That isn’t something I have done since WordPress updated. I figured if I’m using Avia, why would I need it.
October 24, 2018 at 5:55 pm #1026021Me too. I revoked the API key from envato and created another, still a fail.

October 24, 2018 at 6:17 pm #1026032I know understand that there has to be a new api token in future updates…
But does that mean that the newest Enfold version this time has to be updated manually?I use the Enfold theme on several websites – do we have to create unique api tolkens for every site?
Or is just one api tolken for Enfold enough?October 24, 2018 at 6:20 pm #1026034Great questions limedrop!
October 24, 2018 at 7:45 pm #1026069I’m having the same problem on two different sites on different hosting accounts. “An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.”

VictoriaOctober 24, 2018 at 9:07 pm #1026112Hey @limedrop
Let me answer your questions here.
But does that mean that the newest Enfold version this time has to be updated manually?
Yes exactly – either via a plugin to update the theme via zip file or via FTP. I recommend using FTP and did the update on several sites successfully by following this method.Do we have to create unique api tolkens for every site?
Also correct. You need to generate a new, unique private token via Envato for every site and then insert it via your WordPress backend in the theme update tab.Or is just one api tolken for Enfold enough?
No – see answer before. The token is from Envato (themeforest), not Enfold.I hope this helps!
Cheers,

Thanks for your input :)
Best regards,
VictoriaOctober 25, 2018 at 11:58 pm #1026597Hi Michael – I was able to update a few of my sites to 4.5. I have also generated a private token. However, when I enter my new token into the enfold theme options and click “Check the private token” – nothing happens. It appears to be validating, but it never does.
Any ideas?
For others trying to update. I found this helpful. https://kriesi.at/support/topic/cant-update-to-enfold-version-4-5/#post-1022164

October 26, 2018 at 10:43 am #1026693Hey James
I see – please try to open an incognito window in your preferred browser, sign in to your WP backend and enter the private key there.
This should work properly.Best,
MichaelOctober 26, 2018 at 7:43 pm #1026935Worked like a charm. thanks!
