On the update menu I am asked to update my current version 4.4.1. of enfold to the new 4.5.5; however, the moment I go to perform the update I get the following error message:
“There was an error updating Enfold: The download failed. A valid URL was not provided.”how can i go about updating?

You have to update your theme manually in this case. This can be done either with a plugin or directly via FTP (I would recommend using FTP).
Please make sure to make a full backup of your website first.Best and I hope this helps
Michaeland where do I find the update? on the envato website I find nothing but the currently installed version
You can just sign in to the themeforest website and download the most recent Enfold version from there.

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please delete the old version of the theme, then upload the new one. Make sure that you have backups of the site before you start updating.

You can download the theme files from your Themeforest account, they are always the latest version.
