Every time I try to update WordPress, the Enfold theme, or Plugins I get the following error:

Unpacking the update…
Could not create directory.
Installation Failed
I’ve read a lot of online forums on this topic that say you have to change permissions, but I’m new to website development (self-learning!) and have no idea what they mean or where to start.

I can’t re-install the theme without uninstalling the theme, right? If I activate a different theme, delete the old enfold theme upload, and re-install a new upload, won’t that have a significant impact on how my website looks? Is there a workaround for this?
Hi,
I think the easiest way to solve that would be to contact your hosting provider and have them check if your installation has the correct permissions. If you want to do the process you wrote in your reply, then your site will only have a different look while you are actually deleting the old theme and while having another theme active. When the theme is uploaded and activated again then the look should be the same.
