Good morning.
I need to update the enfold template of my site.
I’m a little afraid to manually update for the first time.
I would not do any damage and lose all the work. Communicate the data necessary to update via ftp.
Thanks in advance for your always impeccable support.
Best regard’s

I recommend updating with this plugin, it is very easy. It will require that your PHP MAX UPLOAD is at lest 16.7mb, because that is the size of the Enfold theme.
Here are the steps to update with the plugin to assist.
1: please install the plugin: Update Theme and Plugins from Zip File
2: then go to WordPress > Themes > Add New > Upload
3: after the install, click “Return to Themes page” (NOT Activate)
4: success:
Please let us know if you would like help with this.
Best regards,

Where do you get the Enfold v 4.5?
At Themeforrest / EnvatoMarket I only see the v 4.4.
I get “Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.” when I try to update it automatically in wordpress

October 25, 2018 at 10:49 pm #1026583So I tried this yesterday and it didn’t work. How does this plugin function? I installed it, but I see no way it interacts with anything differently? I am confused. I tried to FTP but that wasn’t successful either.
Is this going to be fixed??? I have clients who update themselves and they certainly won’t go through all of this.I got new API App Codes at Envato. Are these the ones I will use when I finally get this thing updated??? Too confusing.
October 26, 2018 at 12:27 pm #1026756Hi,
@erikstorm_no typically the “installable” theme files download from your Theme Forest account may have the version number listed when you bought the theme, but if you download it, it turns out to be the latest version. To check open the “style.css” file, the third line from the top has the version number.
@elames The way the plugin works is by allowing you to upload a theme though the theme “Install New” function of a theme that is already installed. WordPress won’t let you do this normally. If you use the plugin and install the same theme again it will delete the current one. As long as your upload_max_filesize is larger than Enfold, which is 16.7mb, and your webhost has ZipArchive Extension enabled to extract zip files, which it should.
This is a very easy 3 steps, that is most likely easier than FTP for most clients. Please note that if you update via FTP, you will need to remove the old theme folder “enfold” first (via FTP) then upload the new “enfold” folder at /wp-content/themes/enfold/
Please don’t try to overwrite the theme folder, as this will leave old files behind and cause errors. After this update, going forward, you will be able to use the built-in updater, as the v4.5 corrects the Theme Forest API/Token change.
If you are having issues, please open a new thread, and include your admin login & ftp access in the Private Content area, so we can assist, but as this is not your thread your login info will not be private here.

MikeNovember 21, 2018 at 4:43 pm #1036168is it normal that after generating the token and inserting it into the theme settings string, after I select “check the private token” it takes so long to recognize the token?
November 22, 2018 at 6:46 am #1036390Hi,
How long did it take to recognize the token? Did it complete?
Sorry but I don’t have a way to test this aspect, because I don’t have a token or a retail version to test on, but at times it could take a little while depending on how many Envato users are doing the same for all products. Envato has posted that at times for high usage, they will be throttling. Perhaps this is what happened to you?Best regards,
MikeNovember 22, 2018 at 10:05 am #1036410I do not know if it’s for this or anything. I noticed, however, that if the token created insert it in the settings of enfold the system never answers me, if I use the “envato market” plugin it works and I immediately recognize the token.
I’m wondering if using the plug in cmq must insert the token also in the enfold settings.
I hope I was clear.November 23, 2018 at 2:35 am #1036827Hi,
I’m not sure exactly what the “envato market” plugin is doing, it may insert the token in the plugin settings, but I doubt it is adding anything to the Enfold settings, just by the nature of how plugins work.
It is more likely that the “envato market” plugin has a different level of permissions when communicating with the server. But even though it may have taken a little longer, once your token has been recognize you will be all set. Reading back though your posts, I believe your token has been recognize, is this correct?
Best regards,
MikeNovember 23, 2018 at 10:24 am #1036901It was recognized but by the plugin, not by the enfold settings.
At the moment in every my site that uses enfold the token is registered in the plugin and not in the enfold theme settings.it will be for a question of permits. in fact I noticed that the plugin has less permissions than the procedure that you suggest. just through plugins I can, through settings enfold no. the cursor turns without ever certifying. Take this opportunity to ask another question. But I have to generate a different token for each site that uses enfold true?
November 23, 2018 at 2:31 pm #1036962Hi,
The way I understand how the token works, you will need to create a different token for each site, please read this post I would recommend asking envato support about the token, as it’s not a part of the core Enfold theme. Sorry I really can’t test it the same way as the theme.Best regards,
