When I update to latest theme my site is a mess. It appears to screw up the css. Had to revert to previous enfold version.
All css changes are in enfold child..
DaveAugust 4, 2020 at 7:03 pm #1235185Hey daves1997,
Can you create a staging site (basically a duplicate of your site placed in your subdomain)? and do the update there, so we can try to inspect it without affecting your live site.
Here’s a tutorial on how to do it: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-staging-site/Best regards,
NikkoAugust 4, 2020 at 9:07 pm #1235212I created staging site. Have no idea how to get into it.
August 5, 2020 at 4:38 am #1235286Hi daves1997,
The login credentials should still be the same as the live site. :)

October 12, 2020 at 4:44 am #1252152Hi,
Thanks for that. Could you share the WordPress login page URL for the staging site as well please?

October 13, 2020 at 10:16 am #1252498Hi,
Thanks for that. I updated the staging site to the latest version of the theme, but I can’t see any obvious changes in the styling. Could you point out what is breaking or not applying as it should please? Also please deactivate the caching plugins you have active on the staging site, as they are not needed and cause problems like these.
Best regards,
RikardOctober 13, 2020 at 2:42 pm #1252546works on staging site. Not sure why it does not work on my site.
daveOctober 14, 2020 at 2:00 pm #1252774Hi Dave,
I’m not sure either, but it’s likely that you were getting cached results since you are running caching plugins. Maybe you could try updating again, and make sure to clear the cache from the plugins before checking the results? Also make sure that the option to delete the old CSS and JS files is activated under Enfold->Performance.

DOctober 18, 2020 at 4:23 am #1253557Hi,
Thanks for the update. I checked your front page but I can’t see any missing images, where exactly are you seeing this problem?

RikardOctober 18, 2020 at 12:54 pm #1253600October 19, 2020 at 7:03 am #1253823Hi,
Thanks for that. I see the same thing on my end, you are getting a lot of 404 errors on images and resources. The staging site solution which you are using might be causing that, I’m not sure if it’s copying all the content over?
I wanted to check your live site as well, but I couldn’t see which version of the theme you are using? Please share login details for that site as well if you should need further help.
Best regards,
RikardOctober 19, 2020 at 1:03 pm #1253949I tried the new version on live preview. Nothing worked again.
see credentials belowOctober 20, 2020 at 6:14 am #1254237Hi,
Thanks for that. Please share FTP login details in private as well. Can we try to activate the new version temporarily to check what happens? Also please verify that you have backups of the site.

October 21, 2020 at 7:29 am #1254566Hi,
Thanks for that. I activated the latest version of the theme on your site, and I can’t see any differences between that and the old version. Could you check and verify on your end as well please?
Best regards,
RikardOctober 21, 2020 at 12:42 pm #1254630Only the old theme is active. Updated theme was not used.
