    We have come to the same conclusion and have asked similar questions here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/please-explain-privacy-settings-logic/
    Let’s hope the Enfold team either explains how to set things up correctly or better yet, takes all this confusion as motivation to improve the UX and make it easier for all of us.

    Hi,

    @tbc Thank you for the info.

    1.) That is the default consent status on initial load. Any elements using cookies will be disabled and will only be enabled once the user chose to enable them. On v4.6.1, the [av_privacy_allow_cookies] privacy shortcode will be enabled by default if it’s not available as a privacy option. So if you really need the users to be fully opted out when they initially visit the page, add that privacy shortcode so that they can choose whether to accept all cookies or not. Other privacy shortcodes will be ignored if the user disabled the [av_privacy_allow_cookies] and the consent bar will always popup on every page load.

    and ONLY THEN show the warning e.g. that layout or functionality could be broken if cookies are not accepted.

    You can include that warning or notification in the consent bar. The consent bar will always popup when the user ignore it.

    2.) There should be at least 3 buttons in the consent bar. The first two buttons should allow users to accept the cookies settings and dismiss the notification OR refuse and just hide the notification in the current session. If they chose to refuse the cookies or ignore the notification, the consent bar will popup on reload. The third button should be a link to the privacy page or the modal popup window containing the privacy info and privacy shortcodes where users can read about your privacy policy and pick the cookies that they would like to enable.

    More detailed instruction and description about the new privacy options will be added in the documentation. Please wait for that.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    I’m still having problems with the MailChimp (privacy policy) checkbox option; the text disappeared. TURNED OFF FOR NOW.

    Is anyone having Google analytic problems? I’ve been receiving (not set) errors since this update. Possibly related to cookies?

    Seems like there are a lot more problems under the hood if it’s fixed for some, partially fixed for some more and unfixed for others.

    Hi!

    You can learn more about the new privacy features or options in the documentation.

    @corefocusgroup
    : Do you have the latest version( v4.6.1 )?

    Regards,
    Ismael

    @Ismael

    Yes, I have 4.6.1.

    I had the same problems everyone else had and 4.6.1 fixed all of them, to include, the MailChimp checkbox BUT the privacy text that should be next to it is missing.

    @Ismael

    I understand that there are concerns to solve it the way you did but.

    If the website visitor has confirmed that he has read the cookie hint then the hint bar no longer has to appear. that’s it!
    This must be the default setting, without setting a shortcode. Please correct.

    @Ismael Privacy and cookies Documentation tells something from 4.6.2 on Part “All cookies and services accepted on pageload, user can opt out”.

    This sounds like my main problem with 4.6.1 has been fixed with this update. Can you tell us, when the update will be available?

    Hi,

    If the website visitor has confirmed that he has read the cookie hint then the hint bar no longer has to appear. that’s it!

    @magnons: If that’s how you want your users to opt in, then you can ignore the “[av_privacy_allow_cookies]”. By ignore, I mean don’t add it anywhere in the site. This assumes that the user or visitor accepted all cookies by continuing to browse the site or by ignoring the cookie bar. Make sure that the version of the theme is v4.6.1. The cookie bar should not re-appear once the user accepted it.

    @tglawe: The latest version (4.6.1) is now available.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    @Ismael

    thanks a lot Ismael after your Support-Tip:
    “Enable cookie consent messages” to the 4th option (Use as message bar only)
    now everything is as usual.

    Thanks again and have a nice Week.
    Best regards,
    Mario
