    HI

I have installed the plugin Ultimate Member into my WordPress site. I have tried to enter their code to restrict viewing to only logged-in members in the shortcode area of a page.
    here is the code:
With Ultimate Member you can make certain content on a page/post only viewable to logged-in users. To do this you need to wrap the content in the following shortcodes:

[um_loggedin] This text can only be seen by logged in users [/um_loggedin]

When i did this – I put the first half at the beginning of the shortcode block and the last part at the end of the whole block it did not stick nor work.

Can you please help. Other shortcodes they offer are:

[um_loggedin show_lock=yes] This text can only be seen by logged in users [/um_loggedin]

    Please help.

    Hey grwebs,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

When i did this – I put the first half at the beginning of the shortcode block and the last part at the end of the whole block it did not stick nor work.

Are you trying to hide the content of the advance layout builder? Did you separate the opening and closing shortcode tag in a separate code block element? That will probably not work. You may need to use multiple shortcodes in order to hide certain parts of the page and if you are using the advance layout builder, you may only be able to use their shortcodes on elements with text editors such as the code or text block element.

    Best regards,

    HI,

    sorry for the delay.

We want to have member access pages that they need to log in to see. The base of the page is fine to see but the content we want to be hidden to members only.

    can you help with that?

    Hi,

Unfortunately, this will require custom modifications that we will not be able to provide here, and as stated on our support policy, we do not provide support for third party plugins that is not natively integrated in the theme.

As explained above, the shortcode from the plugin can only be used on elements with text editors, and so the only content that you may be able to hide are those that is within that text editors.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Thank you –

So I can put the code on text blocks to block that content.

Also, is there another way to do this that you can recommend that would work with your theme?

    Hi,

So I can put the code on text blocks to block that content.

Yes, that is the only option when using the Advance Layout Builder.

Also, is there another way to do this that you can recommend that would work with your theme?

We could modify the element and add a custom option for the plugin, but as we mentioned above this is beyond the scope of support and not something that we usually provide here. You may need to find help from third party developers or contact our partner, Codeable.
