    Hi there

I logged into the admin panel of my site today to run a few plugin updates and also install the enfold update. As I was installing plugin updates, I clicked over to Appearance and saw a default theme was running. I was confused. Then I saw the message below:

    Name Description
Enfold Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet.

I have no idea how this happened. I don’t want to upload a theme update now since I don’t want to lose my many customizations. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get my site back/

    Hi,

Thanks for that, I got in now. Could you try to upload the theme again? You could delete the theme folder via FTP first if you like.

    Best regards,

Sure, but won’t my customizations be lost? Doing so now.

    Hi,

No your theme settings should be safe, if you have done customisations to the actual theme files then yes, they will be lost then. You should keep all customisations in a child theme for them to be safe on updates.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
