I’ve just purchased/installed Version 2.8.1 of the Enfold theme. I’ve installed the theme and activated it inside my WordPress Admin page and now I just see a white page. If I try and go to the wp-admin/ login page I enter my username/password but it never completes the login.

I can view my actual site showing the Enfold theme, but cannot login to the site anymore. When trying to login it time-out with this message:

    Request Timeout

This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase ‘Connection Timeout’.

    Help!

    Hey databuzz!

Via FTP, please go to wp-content folder and change the name of plugins folder and check if that helps

    Regards,
    Yigit

    Hi,

Have just renamed the plugins folder – unfortunately still not able to login.

Anything else I can try? I’m running WordPress 3.9.1 FYI.

    thanks,
    Andrew

    Hey!

Please try to increase the allocated memory to 128M: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

I’ve had my hosting company look at this and still now working. I can go to:

    http://sitedomain/wp-login.php

and enter my details and click login which then looks like it redirects to:

    http://sitedomain/wp-admin

which just shows up as a blank page. Really strange.

    Hi Andrew,

Can you please provide us a temporary FTP account? post it here as a private reply.

    Hi databuzz,

I had the same problem (wordpress white screen of death), with any new theme I tried to activate. After I de-activated some plugins one by one, the problem disappeared and I found out which plugin caused the problem.

    Hope it helps?

    Sincerely,
    Morticka

    Hey!

Make sure the Simple XML module is turned on. This user had the exact same problem.

    Best regards,
    Josue

I just checking using phpinfo and it’s already enabled:

    SimpleXML

    Simplexml support enabled
    Revision $Id: 16070fc92ad6f69cebb2d52ad3f02794f833ce39 $
    Schema support enabled

    Hi!

I’ll mark this thread for Kriesi. Tbh I’ve no glue why the theme doesn’t load on your server. I also tried to deactivate the session function call by adding this code to the functions.php file:

    add_theme_support('avia_no_session_support');

but it didn’t solve the issue. It seems like your server tries to process some code and always exceeds the “Maximum execution time” limit.

    Best regards,
    Peter

I’ve increased the max_execution_time to 240 – still cannot active/preview the Enfold theme. This is with a standard install of WordPress 3.9.1 with no plugins installed/activated or any other themes.

I can activate/preview the Thenty Thirteen, Twenty Fourteen and Twenty Twelve that come with WordPress, I just cannot activate/preview the Enfold theme that I purchased.

    Help!

    #288267

I have managed to resolve this by enabling some PHP extensions on my hosting account.

    #288268

    Hey!

That’s great, mind sharing which extensions were needed to be enabled?

    Regards,
    Josue

    #288273

It looks like my hosting company has enabled all PHP extensions in the cPanel login, so it’s hard to know which ones were not previously enabled as I didn’t pay close attention to this.

No problem, glad it’s working now :)
