Hello, I am from thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-4-1-gutenberg/page/5/#post-1111888
I had to pay someone $125 hr to even figure out that my website is on a loop because of the theme.
I re-purchased the theme because I thought I had to in order to get support from the author. Now I own two themes for the same website and neither of them work. I also have two API keys and now find out that I need some kind of token instead. Which, in and of itself is confusing. I updated the old API yesterday, however, it did not work. (I’m telling you in case your confused about more than one API on a website or in my website history.)
Did I need to make this purchase? If not, I would like a refund, please.I did the Update Theme and Plugins from Zip File following that post instructions and it says “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.” I followed all other instructions, except the deleting the whole theme which is too scary for me to do with my limited code literacy.
I have backed it up.
June 21, 2019 at 1:28 pm #1112322Hey traceesioux,
Sorry for the problem and thanks for the login details. If you need help with updating the we need FTP login details as well, please post them in private as well.
If you don’t need the second license then you can request for a refund with Themeforest/Envato as they handle all sales related matters for us. We are a vendor on their platform.
Best regards,
RikardJune 24, 2019 at 6:54 pm #1112977Should I start a new thread? When I added my ftp to this thread it doesn’t appear to still be here.
June 25, 2019 at 6:26 am #1113122Hi,
Thanks for that, I’ve updated your site to 4.5.7 now, please review it.
Best regards,
RikardJune 25, 2019 at 6:49 pm #1113335THANK YOU!!! I can now visit various pages, But the blog page is still stuck in a loop to the front blog page. You can’t reach the posts by clicking on images or titles, it’s simply the cover blog page that loops back to itself. All direct links go to the main blog page instead of the exact posts.
The update didn’t fix this, is this something you know of in the theme and can help me fix?
Additionally, in 2013-2016 I designed a few friend’s websites with this theme. I used my acct bc I had a discount coupon or something. Their sites also need to be updated. What should I do about helping them get the update without breaking their sites? I’m unclear on what is happening or why it’s happening.
June 26, 2019 at 7:54 am #1113501Hi,
Thanks for the update, I see the problem you are referring to. What happens if you disable all plugin? You could also try to reset the permalink settings under Settings->Permalinks to see if that makes any difference.

RikardJune 26, 2019 at 7:56 am #1113502Hi,
About updating your other site; I would advice you to upload the new version via FTP to a new folder, for instance enfold_new. Once it’s uploaded then you rename the old version to enfold_old, and the new one to only Enfold. That should be the safest way of updating.

RikardJune 26, 2019 at 5:51 pm #1113677I’m unable to create any new posts. Or see past posts. Yesterday I created a podcast and set to publish today at 4 am. It completely vanished. I can only publish anything if I deactivate the theme and activate another one and then click publish. But then everything looks insanely terrible bc the enfold them is so drastically different and nothing translates to any other theme. So I then reactivate the theme. That’s how I know it’s the theme.
I’ve deactivated and reactivated all plugins. I deleted all plugins that are not being actively used. I’ve run all kinds of security programs and cleared issues. I know it’s the theme because deactivating solves the problem.
June 27, 2019 at 10:31 am #1113868Hi,
Thanks for the update, your site is using the old version which I updated from again. Did you restore the site from a backup?
Best regards,
RikardJune 27, 2019 at 7:50 pm #1114080No, it told me I needed to update again, so I did. And it’s still not working. Are you testing the feature after you go in and do your thing? If you were you would know that it’s still in a loop. Also, after I did my latest post, it vanished and didn’t exist the next day. I had to rewrite it and disable the theme to post it and then reactivate the theme so it didn’t look like crap.
the address is https://traceesioux.com/10-dating-hacks-to-avoid-heartbreak/ but it goes to the main blog page and won’t click through to the actual post.
June 27, 2019 at 7:53 pm #1114083Also yesterday I deleted several plugins to try to clear the issue and emptied a bunch of caches. Those plugins are now reinstalled and active. How does that happen?
July 1, 2019 at 4:38 am #1114769Hi,
Thanks for the update and sorry for the late reply, I can still only see the old version on your installation though. Should we update your site again? We can’t really support a version of the theme which is outdated.
Best regards,
RikardJuly 9, 2019 at 1:56 am #1116836Rikard, Of course you should upload it again so that I can use my website. I don’t even understand how it’s reverting. Something is broken and it needs to be fixed. This back and forth seems to be “delaying” fixing my problem.
July 9, 2019 at 8:53 am #1116955Hi,
It’s your website, I can’t make decisions for you. I’ve updated your site again. Your problems is due to a plugin, I deactivated all of them and it’s working as it should in that state.
Best regards,
RikardJuly 30, 2019 at 8:06 pm #1123284The theme keeps reverting back to previous versions. I have deactivated and deleted almost all of the plugins and they are now back to were they were 2 months ago – since I started trying to fix this theme issue caused by upgrades to the new theme.
Also only 120 comments remain on my website. I’ve had this site for 13 years, I promise you that I had thousands of comments on my site. Where did they go?
The blog links worked for about 1 day. Now the direct links are going to the primary blog page. At least not I can click through to the page.
All of my previous theme preferences are back to brand new theme settings. Is this supposed to happen? I have to go back through and designate a page for my blog to show up on? I have to start from the very beginning of buying this theme?
Additionally, I requested a refund for the additional unnecessary theme about a month ago. You told me to go to themeforest, they said they would send it to you bc it’s your responsibility. So if that’s sitting in your inbox, please do what you need to do to to issue that refund.
I’m so disappointed in you guys and this update. This was the best theme ever and I recommended it to a lot of people and bought quite a few licenses. It used to be intuitive and lovely and didn’t have any issues.
Since your big update I’ve had nothing but a frustrating nightmare with this theme and also the inadequate customer service.
I’ve spent money on trying to even discover that it is a THEME ISSUE. It is NOT a plugin issue as I – and my host – have deactived, reactivated, deleted, reinstalled all of the plugins numerous times. The new version has had to be reuploaded several times. And it’s reverting back to previous versions all by itself. All of my comments are missing. My links don’t work. All of my anti-spam plugins suddenly vanished. And y’all aren’t fixing the problem feel no urgency to do anything about it, don’t even click to see if whatever you did actually worked.
If I didn’t have to redesign the ENTIRE website I’d move on to a theme that could handle the big wordpress update and which has responsive customer service.August 4, 2019 at 11:14 pm #1124590Hello, I need help. I am managing a website and I can’t update the Enfold theme. the Avia Builder is old and doesn’t seem to work. I haven’t been given the credentials to log in so I am not able to get the latest version of the theme. Can you please help me out? I don’t want to rebuy the theme and end up in the same situation, I just want to update it. I would really appreciate if you could contact me in any way to help me retrieve the password and get support on this? Thank you very much in advance
August 6, 2019 at 10:17 am #1125033Hi,
@traceesioux: We would like to apologize for the late response. The theme keeps reverting back to previous versions
This is in no way cause by the theme. It doesn’t have that capability. You should contact your hosting provider about it. It may be their server reverting the site back to a restore point but we can’t be sure. Do you see any errors when the site reverts back to a previous version?
Also only 120 comments remain on my website. I’ve had this site for 13 years, I promise you that I had thousands of comments on my site. Where did they go?
This is probably an issue with your database. I’m sure you’ve created a backup in your server. You should be able to restore the comments and all missing data using that backup. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do on our side to restore that data and quite honestly, we don’t think this issue is entirely related to the theme.
All of my previous theme preferences are back to brand new theme settings.
No, that is not supposed to happen. The theme options are saved in the database, which might have been lost due to a database error as we have pointed out earlier.
Additionally, I requested a refund for the additional unnecessary theme about a month ago.
We will forward the thread to Kriesi. Please wait for his response.
I’ve spent money on trying to even discover that it is a THEME ISSUE.
How did you confirm that it’s a theme issue? If you can share your findings with us — errors, logs or anything, then maybe we can help you figure out where the problem is.
Best regards,
