Is the text editor really supposed to be blank and clear any code in a page that is/was populated via the Advanced Layout editor?
I’m just getting started on a site – and even the demo homepage is blank if I open it with the text editor (despite being fully populated in Advanced).
I’m using version 4.8.1 – and I have NO plugins installed (activated or deactivated).

Thanks for the login details, they are working but I can’t see much on the backend since the account doesn’t have admin rights. Could you upgrade the user please?

August 16, 2017 at 10:51 pm #840108Hi,
I’m seeing both the ALB and default editor populated. I am using Chrome on a PC. Is there another browser you may be using?

Jordan ShannonAugust 20, 2017 at 11:09 pm #841787I am also using chrome on a PC. It seems to happen when you add any shortcodes or when you use the Avia/Advanced Layer Builder then try and switch to the html editor.
August 21, 2017 at 3:35 pm #842056Hi,
In order to view the codes via the HTML editor, you would need to enable debug mode:

Jordan ShannonAugust 22, 2017 at 4:15 am #842283I’m assuming in this case, it’s referring to adding that snippet of code to the functions-enfold.php file? I did this but am not seeing any difference. I also tried adding that to just the functions.php file and it wouldn’t even let me open the page in any editor. So that has been reverted.
And I’m not sure I’m using a ‘child’ theme. The only theme I’m using is enfold, so I also tried adding the additional line it mentions – above the other php code snippet. I’m still not seeing a new field under the advanced layout editor.
Am I missing something?

You can’t switch between the default editor and the advance layout builder. They are using two different templates. The shortcodes or elements that are created with the advance layout builder will be visible only in the advance layout builder.

August 26, 2017 at 6:02 am #844291Hi,
You should add the “debug mode” code in the functions.php file, not the functions-enfold.php file. Try to put it below line 19.
if(isset($avia_config['use_child_theme_functions_only'])) return;
