Hello devs,
I’ve been having an issue on the back end of a site I have been building. It worked fine on the staging site, however for some reason when I moved the site onto it’s live form, I started to have an issue where when I saved certain pages I would get a total hang of the Avia Layout Builder (i.e. just a spinning circle, not loading the elements). I finally, through trial and error, narrowed it down to the testimonial which is causing the issue. It displays fine from the front end, however once inserted and saved the page can no longer be edited as it will not load the editing part at the back. The entire page loads, except the container there the layout builder is.
When I tried to start the testimonial slider from scratch (i.e. instead of a layout builder template) it would not allow me to add any names that had a space in them (i.e. Managing Director resulted in the hang, but Manager did not). On my home page, I was only able to do a single testimonial in the slider, anything additional would cause the hang (https://www.tecautomation.com.au). However on my project page, I was able to insert the testimonial slider from my staging site as a layout builder template, however once the page was saved I can no longer edit it (https://www.tecautomation.com.au/projects/).

Apologies on the delay I have been quite swamped with other projects. Please do enable debug mode for me as I am not sure on how to do that and see if you can figure out what the issue is.

Thanks for the update, I’ve enabled debug mode for you now. First off though, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (5.1.1) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.

I have checked on the Enfold theme update in Enfold settings and it says that I have the most updated version.
Why would the update not be showing on the wp backend?
Thanks!Also, I have come across another glitch in the site. When I go to add the heading, I cannot add spaces to my headings. So if I try to make it two words, even though my space bar works fine, it will not allow a space to be entered.
Any ideas? I would appreciate your assistance.

i do ask that – because this is a fallback width if there is something wrong in a css setting.
default value of enfold is 1310pxwhere did you enter your custom css rules ? You don’t use the quick css input field? Neither custom.css

I have updated the theme and the issue persists. What might be causing this? If you go onto my website via login details provided I can not edit the ‘Projects’ page at all and on the home page when I go into the testimonial slider I cannot put in any spaces into the Testimonial provider’s name. Not to mention no spaces can be inputted in headings!? Please assist!

About the projects page: please try to enable debug mode, so that we can move the shortcodes to a new page: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode. We can do it for you, if you give us permission to do so.
Space bar problem: please try to temporarily deactivate all plugins, to see if that changes anything.

RikardYes please do enable debug mode and have a look. It seems deactivating some plugins did fix the other issue so thank you for that.

Thanks for the update. I’ve enabled debug mode for you, and I created two test pages, please see private. On the first one I removed the testimonials code, and it’s working as you can see. I pasted the testimonials code in the second page, and it’s not working. Could you try recreating the testimonials on a new page? If you are are copy/pasting content from somewhere, the you might get unwanted content which might be causing this problem. So if you don’t absolutely have to, then please try to not to copy/paste content.

I have tried to add the testimonials in on the test page and manually typed up one testimonial into the short code. I saved it and it worked. However, as soon as I typed in two testimonials (as in added another one with the large slider style) it immediately would not load the advanced layout builder any more.

I created another test page and copied the testimonials over manually, please see private. The text in private is what is causing the problem, I’m not really sure why though. Could you reach out to your hosting provider to see if some of the words in that text might be blocked by a firefall for example? This problem usually happens when that is the case, but I can’t find the words we have found to be problems before:
This is a rare case but if typing certain words, such as “get“,”include“, “select” or “head” in Text Block element breaks it after saving, there might be a modsec rule in firewall settings causing this issue.
