    Hello,

I’ve noticed the EasyTOC Plugin isn’t working for my blog posts. When I click an element on the menu, it’ll scroll back up.
Tried installing different Table of Contents plugins and none work.

    Thank you in advance.

    Following up.

    Hi,

Did you try the Table of Content widget which is part of the theme? You can find it under Appearance->Widgets. We can’t provide support for third party plugins unfortunately.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hello Rikard,

Thanks for your answer. I went ahead and tried using the Widget you mentioned, but unfortunately it doesn’t work either.
When I click on a header, it will scroll back up.

You can check the behaviour here:

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I can’t see any problems using that widget on a test installation though, please see link in private. What happens if you deactivate all plugins and remove any custom code you might have added?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hello Rikard,

I’ve followed up with your suggestions. I deactivated all plugins and it’s all the same.
My guess then is that there is some custom code interfering, but I wouldn’t know which could be.

Do you have any idea or ways of checking?
    Any help is much appreciated.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I checked the content on your site a bit closer now, and it looks like you are still running the plugin which you mentioned earlier? Please try using the Table of Content widget which is included in the theme instead. We can’t provide support for third party plugins unfortunately.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hello Rikard,

Sorry about that, I was doing tests on a staging environment and not on live. I went ahead an removed the plugin, and setup the widget included on Enfold.

    Can you check again, please?

    Hi,

Thanks for that. Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1423839

Ok, I’ve created a new user.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. The regular WordPress login URLs don’t seem to work, could you share the login page URL in private as well please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1423942

    Sorry, I completely forgot.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I created a test post, and it seems to be working as expected in that. Please see private. I’m not sure exactly what is wrong with the post you linked to, but it might be a good idea to try and recreate it. You could start a new post and only copy the text over to begin with.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Sorry for the late reply,

I noticed that in order for it to work, I need to use the Advanced Layout editor, when previously, all my blog posts were using the Default Editor, and it’s not working there.

Is there a way to make it work on the Default editor?

    #1424629

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I’m not sure why, but for some reason it’s not picking up h1 and h2 tags on your site, please see test post in private. The same content is working as expected on my test site though, please see second link in private. It’s likely that something on your site is conflicting, as it’s working on my test site, and we’ve had no other reports from other users having this problem. Would you be able to copy the site to a staging area, so that we can try to exclude possible problems?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

Sorry for the late reply. The staging is done, and I’ll share the credentials in the private content.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. The login process is asking for 2FA verification though, could you turn that off for now please?

Please enter the two-factor authentication (2FA) verification code below to login. Depending on your 2FA setup, you can get the code from the 2FA app or it was sent to you by email. Note: if you are supposed to receive an email but did not receive any, please click the Resend Code button to request another code.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,
I’m sorry about the inconvenience, I’ve disabled the 2FA now.
    Best regards.

    #1425211

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, but I’m still seeing the 2FA box after adding user and password on the WordPress login screen. I’ve tested in both regular and private browser windows.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1425270

I deactivated the plugin now, please go ahead and try again

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks for that. First off, please make sure that the site is running the latest version of the theme: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. If you need help with updating, then please provide us with FTP login details for the staging site.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1425530

    Hi Rikard,

I believe I have updated Enfold, please tell me if otherwise. Thanks

    #1425584

    Hi,

You are running 5.2.1 on the staging site, the current version of the theme is 5.6.8. We can’t debug problems on old theme versions unfortunately. If you want to update yourself, then please refer to the documentation I linked to in my previous reply. If you want us to update for you, then please include FTP login details in private.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1425613

    Hi Rikard,

I’ve now updated the Theme to Ver. 5.6.8. https://prnt.sc/KSaTZ-J0G44F

    Please take a look.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Thanks for that. The problem seems to be coming from your child theme as it’s working as expected when the parent theme is active, you can see and verify that on your staging site now as I’ve left the parent active. Your child theme contains a lot of files, so I can’t say for sure what is causing this to happen. What you could do is to download your current child locally to your machine, then install a clean child theme and start adding the customisations one by one to see when the problem starts happening.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

It seems weird to me, because when I use the default editor, the table of contents won’t work, but when switching to the advanced layout, it works correctly.

Something must be creating conflict, obviously, but it’d be hard to know what, since it was after an update that it stopped working, and if you notice, all of our blogs are created using the default editor, with the template created through php.

Any idea of what could be causing it?

    #1426371

    Hi,

I’m not sure to be honest with you, but the first step of debugging this problem would be to start with a clean child theme, then copy in your customisations one by one.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
