Hello,
the WP Peacemaker Theme (Scheetz Designs) hasn’t been supported for a few years now and I’m taking the plunge into buying the Enfold Theme, as my husband has it installed, and it looks perfect, a direct replacement. I have backed up the website with UpdraftPlus and exported the website.
I’m currently running WordPress 4.5.20 due to not wanting to break the Peacemaker Theme. My question relates to the best method of switching to Enfold? Is it best to install Enfold and check each page, or just import the exported website once switched theme to Enfold?
Thanks for any help.

The content on your old site which has been added with the default WordPress editor should be imported fine into the theme, but if you want to use the built in Layout Editor then you would have to recreate all of your content. If your old theme has a layout builder of its own then that would not be imported into either the WordPress editor or the built in Layout Editor.

Thanks for that. I can’t see a Layout Builder as a plugin or when editing one of your pages, so you should be able to import most of your content without any problems.
Best regards,

I see that you are running an old version of the theme on that site. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from that version, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
Rikard -
