Hi guys!
I have spent the last couple of days optimizing my site but it is still sluggish. I have updated to the latest version of Enfold and I am running w3 total cache and I have optimized all of my images. Any help would be appreciated
January 11, 2019 at 7:58 am #1052619Hey isaaccolavecchio,
Thank you for using Enfold.
I ran a test in the page speed insights and according to the report, the site is slow because of the images and the number of nodes that has to be rendered. You should move some of the products to other pages or make use of the category pages.

There are other pages with less products that are slow as well.
How do I reduce the number of nodes?
Also the speed test says to consider lazy loading images.
Is there any way to do that?
Thanks!

Resources are blocking the first paint of your page. Consider delivering critical JS/CSS inline and deferring all non-critical JS/styles.how do i fix that?

How do I reduce the number of nodes?
You can do that by removing some elements, in this case products, from your home page.
Also the speed test says to consider lazy loading images.
There are available plugins out there but some of them may not be compatible with the theme.

IsmaelJanuary 15, 2019 at 11:55 am #1054068Okay, I have done some more work on the site and it is getting better but it still scores 73 on the google test and i got at C using GT metrics with a page load time of 17 seconds.
It says to use a CDN. I’m using Jetpack as a CDN.
And it also says to use less HTTP requests.
“This page has 17 external Javascript scripts. Try combining them into one.
This page has 5 external stylesheets. Try combining them into one.”
Is there a good plugin for fixing that issue??
thanks!
January 17, 2019 at 8:59 am #1054892Hi,
You have to install a cache and a minification plugin to decrease the external http requests. Some cache plugins have a minify feature by default.
If you don’t want to install a plugin to minify those resources, go to the Enfold > Performance panel and enable the File Compression settings. You should not enable that option if you’re still working on the site.Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 17, 2019 at 7:04 pm #1055122Hi!
Thank you.
I got WP Rocket and performance is much better.
I also discovered that when I am logged into the admin my site is much slower but when logged out it is pretty fast. Not sure why that is but I’m glad it is fast for the rest of the world!
Thank you for your help.
January 19, 2019 at 10:22 am #1055822Hi,
Great, glad you got it faster using that plugin. About being logged in; caching plugins usually don’t show cached content for logged in users, you should be able to change that in the settings of the plugins if I’m not mistaken. Though caching for logged in users might not be such a good idea since you might not be able to see your updates unless you clear the cache. When to not use a caching plugin.
Best regards,
