    Hey,

Well I just went to GTMetrix.com and looked at my ‘Specify Image Dimension’ score and it was a whopping 0. I clicked to see why my score was so low, and all the links that were in that rule were images in the layerslider. Is there any way I can specify dimensions for objects in the layer slider? It’s really bringing my speed score down and I want to bring it up as high as possible.

By the way, when I uploaded the files, I obviously specified dimensions when putting it on the layerslider, but it doesn’t seem to identify me specifying the dimensions.

Any suggestions? Also my website is http://www.fastiphonefix.com, if you want to put it in http://www.GTMetrix.com and look at my scores, and know how I can improve my lower scores, I’d really appreciate it, as I’m having problems with it.

    Thanks,
    Sal.

    Hey Sal!

If this doesn’t work, you could try using a HTML layer to have control of whats gets rendered, something like this. But to be honest i don’t think this will make a big difference on your overall load speed (which is actually quite fast already).

Hi, what was ‘this’ and ‘this’ please? Links seem to no longer work.

    Thank you

    Hi,

Wow! I think this must have worked three years ago, but now I am having the exact same problem. I have literally changed one of the slider background images and am getting penalized in GT Metrix for not having image dimensions specified. Layerslider doesn’t seem to have the old settings sections we used before. Can you help please? It is really annoying as this is the ONLY image on the page which is getting penalized.

    Thank you,

    Simon

    Hi,

Actually that is not a penalized at all. GTMetrix is a machine, so the results it gives are not based on Machine Learning, but on specific statuses.
You can always try resize the image, that should solve the issue.

    Best regards,

It brings the percentage from 100% to 99% on that section of GT Metrix. Yes, not a great deal, but very annoying as the other images in the slider all are ok. Anyone else got any ideas how to solve this please?

    Hi,

You can add a class to the area, and add a width & height.
    That could help you.

    Best regards,
    Basilis
