    Hello. Is it possible to add Skype Social Icon URL that initiate chat/call without changing functions.php? If so, what in format? skype:username?call is not working. Thanks!

    Hey Simijonovic,
    the Skype protocol is not whitelisted in WordPress, and URL beginning by skype is stripped by WordPress, try the plugin Allow Skype Protocol

    Hi Mike,
    thanks for the answer. Haven’t tried plugin though because it works well when link is created within the text on a page (callto://username) but not with the social icons in header / footer.

    Hi,
    When you create a link within text on the page it is not treated the same way by WordPress as when it is added to a field that is processed by WordPress like the social icons links are.
    So give the plugin a try.
