GuestI currently manage a website that was designed by Daytona Systems. They purchased Enfold V3.8 and I have continued to maintain site with this version. Noticed when tried to update to a newer version of PHP I had a number of errors show up, so I went back to PHP 5.6. I fear that this will get worst unless I upgrade. Will there be any problems to the site if I upgrade? Is there a discount for current Users?
August 5, 2020 at 6:19 am #1235303Hi Richard,
Sorry for the problem. I would recommend that you update on a staging version of the site first, to see if you run into any problems. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
I’m not sure what you mean by discounts for existing users, do you not have access to the theme files on Themeforest?

This is often the case. Once you purchase the license, you have access to the ThemeForest account, theme updates, and 6 months support. We are always here to help should you have any more questions.
