    Hello,

The search is not getting results relevant to the words that are searched. For example, if I search for the title of a page, the respective page only appears on the 2nd page of results. Why does this happen? In search it is important that the 1st result is the main word or expression which corresponds to the title. And if the word does not exist in a page’s title, the search will show results whose word is in the text.
Right now, I don’t know criteria is taken to show the search results.

How do I change the search to get relevant results?

    Thank you

    Hi infoportugal!

The search function is only using the default WordPress search hook so any inaccuracies or poor performance is unfortunately out of our hands to address.

    Cheers!

    Hello,

So you don´t know how to customize the search engine in order to make the performance better? And you don´t consider changing that or develop a better search engine for the next updates?
At least do you know how to set up the search.php to show the pages which the searched word is in the page’s title? It´s very important to a website with lots of information and lots of layers of information to have a search that goes to relevant results…

    Thanks again.
    Best regards,
    Ana

    Hey!

“Customizing” it to perform better is not easy and you have to remember that the support offered here is for theme-related issues, however if you want a better search engine you could use CSE or plugins like this one.

    Best regards,
    Josue
