Thank you for the inquiry.
The fonts will only load once the required cookies are stored in the local storage. That is the default cookie or privacy behavior of the theme. If you want the fonts to load without the users’ explicit consent, set the Enfold > Privacy & Cookies > Default Cookie Behavior to the first option. All services including the fonts will be enabled by default on page load.

I have questions about that:
What’s the difference between »Oswald« and »Open Sans«? The »Open Sans« appears correctly without accepting cookies, but it’s an Enfold font like the »Oswald«.
Is it correct, that all available fonts in Enfold are “embedded” = are integrated in the Enfold files? In that case no connections and data transfers to Google or other web services are necessary, right? That ist what I found here (https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/typography/): “By default enfold comes loaded with many websafe and google fonts, for some reason if you need to use a custom font that suits your design or to comply with GDPR.” So what is the GDPR-Problem with the »Oswald« font or other embedded fonts? Does it really need cookies?
Sorry, that I’m so persistent, but one of the latest court decisions from EuGH (Europäischer Gerichtshof) says, the user has to opt in(!) first before loading any cookies. That’s ok for Google Maps, YouTube etc., where we can display some alternative images in Enfold. But to “smash” the whole look & feel of the website by changing the fonts before accepting cookies, makes the usage of fonts like »Oswald« nearly impossible.
Thank you!
JanJanuary 7, 2020 at 9:49 pm #1171250Hi Jan,
The Google fonts that “come with the theme” are still loaded externally from https://fonts.gstatic.com/ and so they do require the opt-in or you can download this font from Google, upload it to your website and load if from there, then cookies notice for the fonts will not be required.
