I would like to use MPEG-4 (or perhaps WebM) instead of GIFs on our home page slider. Is that even possible within this Avia element? Or do I have to go to a totally separate slider? Please advise, as GIFs are large and we’d like to reduce page weight as much as we can.

    Hey Illingco,

You can use videos in slides. Just need to upload them to your media library and assign to the slides.

But when I try to use video, several things happen differently than GIFs. Once it hits the frame with the video, it will stop scrolling after that. It also doesn’t fill the screen responsively like the GIFs or stills. Please advise….

That’s what I’m using, animated GIFs. But I do not wish to use those, I want to use MP4s, so I do not see what relevance your links have. How do I use MP4s and overcome the problems previously mentioned? Thanks…

    Hi,

Unfortunately, it would require quite some time and customization of the theme to achieve this, so I am sorry to tell you that this is not covered by our support. However, if it’s really important for you to get this done, you can always hire a freelancer to do the job for you :)

    Best regards,

Even though I would think it should work if this is unchecked?

    Loop Video Player
Check if you want to loop the video (instead of showing the next slide the video will play from the beginning again)

    Hi Illingco,

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

OK, I have tried to unblock. Please advise what you find or what else you need from me. Thanks…

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

Do you have a test page where we can see the issue? The slider should resume once the video has ended if it’s not set to loop. It should be triggered by the following script.

    currentSlide.on('av-video-ended', { slide: currentSlide , self: self}, onFinish);

Are you testing this on safari?

    Best regards,
    Ismael
