Hi there, I got the Following message from my Google adwords specialist. Do you understand what the problem is here? I don’t understand. How can I remove duplicate titles?

    Duplicate Pages
The site currently has two URLs for every page (according to a search engine spider). The first is the actual page and the second is the link that drives the search feature.

    E.g.
    http://www.designid.com.au/interior/about-the-course/
    &
    http://www.designid.com.au/interior/about-the-course/?s=

The second URL is generated when the search icon is clicked

To a search engine this will appear as two pages with the same content and this has a negative impact on search engine rankings.

The recommendation is to remove the ?s= component on the URL for these links and replace this with a pure JavaScript popup function.

The pages do have the canonical tag that will correct this issue but given the simple nature of the change it is one that I recommend that we correct properly.

    Thanks

    Hey drmoody!

We can’t replace this with a pure js function because the ajax search still depends on the wordpress search query and the search query requires the ?s= link. I’ll ask Kriesi to add a nofollow attribute to the search link though.

    Best regards,
    Peter
