    Is there a way to to have an hover over effect on a profolio grid to show some lines for information text “like an quick information” before you click on the item to come to the actually profolio item that you are interested in?

    Please try using Masonry element to display your portfolio items. An example can be seen here – http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio/masonry-portfolio/
