    Hi,

a portfolio item was created with Layoutbuilder.

When I look at the portfolio item with the status Published and Private by clicking the preview button, I see the entire shortcode ([av_one_full first min_height=” vertical_alignment etc.) instead of the content.

More details in the private content.

    Best Regards,
    Günter

    Hey Günter,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

We are not really sure why it is not rendering the shortcode on preview but updating the theme from version 4.8.6.2 to the latest version 4.8.7.2 might help fix the issue. Please toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings after updating the theme.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

A major update recently took place on the website after years. It is running version 4.8.6.5. File compression is disabled (a problem with a mass of files in /uploads/avia_config/)

So shortly after the update, it would be an unreasonable effort to reconcile all modified files in the child theme with changes to the original in the parent theme.

    Best Regards;
    Günter

    Hi,

Those modification might have also caused the issue and unfortunately, we cannot continue to provide support for older versions of the theme, which might have had certain issues with plugins or the WordPress core. And might still contain known bugs or code errors, which have been already fixed in a later version of the theme.

You can check the change logs in the following link, which lists all fixes for known bugs and new features.

    Hi Ismael,

child theme cannot be. I have the same problem with Enfold (not enfold_child). I have not tried it with deactivated plugins.

Until the next update I have changed the preview permalink with the hook “preview_post_link” to the portfolio permalink.

    Best Regards,
    Günter

    Hi,

    Thank you for following up.

Until the next update I have changed the preview permalink with the hook “preview_post_link” to the portfolio permalink.

Does it work when you temporarily disable the hook? We may need to access a staging or development version of the site to safely inspect the issue. Please clone the site to a subdomain and make sure that the theme is updated, then we will check the issue again.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi,

I cloned the site to a private subdomain. But I now know what the problem is. The error is part of https://kriesi.at/support/topic/page-split-2/. If you remove the element “Page Split” AND the block above it with the WP-nextpage, then the preview will be rendered.

But the sidebar is not displayed on the right and the tab element shows incorrect lists. If you – after deleting “Page Split” – edit before all tabs in the tab element (with update) everything works.

You can do anything on this work site. The ALB template for portfolio-item /bundesland-musterstadt/ is saved as “PORTFOLIO VORLAGE”.

    Günter

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

Have you tried updating the page_split.php file as suggested in the previous thread? This is the updated version of the page_split.php file, which should contain the fix.

    // https://github.com/KriesiMedia/enfold-library/blob/master/temp_fixes/Enfold_4_8_7/shortcodes/page_split.php

You may need to do this step as well.

You can remove add_theme_support and it should work without your workaround with nextpage.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi,

yes, but as I wrote there

unfortunately, the new page_split.php does not have the desired effect ,,,

    Hi,

Is it working correctly when you use the default tag?

    Hi,

As I wrote in the other thread:

With WP-nextpage alone you can see the end tag of the container in which –nextpage– is placed on the following page [/code, text, …]

<–nextpage–> breaks the ALB blocks. The start of the block is on the first page, the end tag on the next. The Layout Builder cannot cope with this.

    Hi,

I updated the file enfold\config-templatebuilder\avia-shortcodes\page_split.php to the latest version.

The page …haus/bundesland-musterstadt now works in frontend when published.

Preview is loading, but paging is not working. I copied your shortcodes to my dev server to check, if I can find a solution for preview. But it might be a limitation to this element with the preview.

    Edit 26.11.

    Removed “nextpage” tag.

    Updated page_split.php.

Preview renders correct layout and content for first page and paging also works now.

    Best regards,
    Günter
