    Hi!

My portfolio items is sorted in the order I added them. I really want to be able to sort them myself or at least in category order (without have to click on the sorting buttons on the portfolio). I tried to go around it by editing the publicing date of the portfolios item afterwards, but nothing happend in the front end, just in the back end list (where I also can order alphabeticly or by date).

Same question goes for portfolio categories (which is now alphabeticly), but that dosen’t matter as much.

    Hi agarkitekter,

Changing the published date should do it, but if you have any kind of caching plugin active it may have a delay in showing up.

There are also plugins that allow you to drag and drop the post order but I’ve heard of mixed results with them.

In the mean time, I’ve added the idea to the feature request list as I know it has also been requested for the other themes in the past as well.

    Regards,

    Devin

    Hi!

Thanks. Changing the published date works for the portfolio items list in the wordpress admin, but not on the webpage. Maybe it’s sorted by ID there?

In which file is the code for the portfolio sorting? loop-portfolio-single.php?

If you want to change the query parameters (eg sort by date, title, etc.) you can use filters: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/sorting-portfolio-items-1

If you want to use a custom order you can try: http://www.nsp-code.com/premium-plugins/wordpress-plugins/advanced-post-types-order/ (for more information have a look at: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/remove-rollover-effect-on-the-portfolio )

Great, thanks! I had already tried Advanced Post Types without result, but now I also downloaded the Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order plugin through one of your links,, and now the items sorting works! And the second plugin worked perfect for custom sorting of the portfolio categories. So both problems got solved in once (I didn’t even had to buy the premium version of the plugin like in one of the threads).:)
