    Hi,

My portfolio entries titles have SEO-optimized titles.

I don’t want those titles to appear under each entry’s featured image in the portfolio grid.
I have more concise titles I’d like to appear there, instead.

Is it possible with portfolio grid to show different titles than the entry’s actual title?

A workaround I’ve found is to use the Excerpt instead of the title, and to change the excerpt styling so it looks like a title.

Is there a less ‘hacky’ way to do this?

    Thanks!

    Hey sdigit,
Your solution sounds very good, I had thought of using (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -custom-fields/”>Advanced Custom Fields to create a second title to be shown, but when looking into this it seems like it would be very involved. Another option would be to use jQuery to change to title but you would need to write each one out, which would be just as “hacky”
So your solution may be best.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hey Mike,

    Great, thanks for the answer!

I’ve done this and now just wondering if there is custom CSS I can use to assign a h3 tag to all these excerpts?

    Thanks again!

    Hi,
CSS can’t assign tags, but it can match the font size to your h3 tags. To give it a H3 you could use jQuery, but if this is for SEO I don’t believe that Google will see the h3 because the bot doesn’t allow jQuery when it loads a page.
If you would like help with the css or jQuery, please link to the page in question so we can examine the structure.

    Best regards,
    Mike
