    Hello,

    For my website I used Enfold in the version as I bought it in 2014 (no update since) and with WordPress 3.9. My hoster now asked me to switch to a more recent PHP version (because 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4 are no longer being supported). They say I should just try and switch and then see if my site is still fine, if not, I should switch back. Do you see any problems trying this with my Enfold site?

    Regards

    Hi curious2c!

    Enfold is fully compatible with PHP7 but please make sure that you are using the latest version 3.8.1 – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

    Cheers!

    Dear Yigit,

    Thanks a lot. I updated today and now I have a few problems (I am using a child theme).

    -I went to “Upload theme settings file” in the child theme to upload the file I had exported befor the update. It said that the upload of the file was completed but the sign is still blue (saying “Upload theme settings …). It should be green, isn’t it?
    -As a consequence, I think, in the General settings there are type colours I didn’t use (grey and green, probably default colours), and my logo on my entry page is cut off. When I go to the logo on the dashboard it says “Upload” next to my logo – do I have to upload the logo after the theme update?

    Unfortunately I am in a hurry because my hoster will stop support for the PHP version I use now by the end of next week…

    Can you advise?

    Thanks a lot

    if you are using a child theme – the update Process shouldn’t influence it at all.
    You don’t have to switch to enfold parent theme – let the child theme be active and update the parent theme – thats all.
    I prefer the ftp method – just overwrite all files of enfold.
    All Settings are saved in child-theme and under WordPress wp-content / uploads / dynamic-avia folder.
    So there was no need to save the theme settings file and upload it again.

    btw. there are allways upload buttons even if you have allready uploaded one (Just in case you like to change it). Do you see under the Upload button your inserted logo?

    Dear Guenni007,

    Thanks for your reply.

    That is exactly what I did: I uploaded via ftp and of course did not switch to the parent theme, the child theme is still active.

    I uploaded the settings file only after I saw that there were changes to my design after the update.

    I see my logo but the size has changed, so that part of it is hidden by the menu.

    What could be the solution?

    Hi,

    did you changes any theme files (parent theme files)? if yes you will lose it when updating. So make sure you implement any customizations again after updating.

    Best regards,
    Andy

    Hello Andy,

    I don’t think so – I made changes in the Child theme via quick css, so for example one thing concerning the logo:

    .logo { pointer-events: none !important; }

    @media only screen and (max-width: 990px) and (min-width: 768px) {
    .logo img {
    max-width: 60%!important;
    margin-top: 20px!important;
    }}

    But now, after the update, part of my logo is hidden by the menu. (By the way, I opened a new thread “Problems after update” in the meantime.)

    Best
