Hi,
Trying to help out a friend who recently was put in charge of managing a school website using the Enfold theme.
They said that randomly, it just stopped letting them update pages after editing. While the page says it has updated, when you refresh it reverts back to what it was previously. I read forums, etc, and it appeared that it was an issue of the latest WP version with an old theme version. I couldn’t track down any license information, so I just purchased it again now to try do the update, but it’s not letting me for some reason.. I’m hesitant to reupload the theme in case of breaking more things!
Could you please offer any suggestions or take a look at the site and fix it up.
Thanks!

Enfold 3.8 is not built to work with the WordPress over version 5. And in your dashboard, there is a notification that you need to upgrade php too. So you need to upgrade the php, make a full website backup and update the theme.

Is there a way around things if I can’t upgrade the php? When I click the notification, it basically says I don’t need to do anything? https://www.cloudlinux.com/hardenedphp-wp
I don’t have access to cPanel, which I’d need to do so? I’ll try track it down, but could take some time to get hold of details.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks!
DaynDecember 6, 2019 at 5:36 am #1163304Hi Dayn,
Which version are you currently running? You will need a minimum of 5.6.4 as that is the minimum required version to run WordPress on.
The update to 4.6.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
You might want to do this on a staging version of the site first, if you are worried about things breaking.

I am currently experiencing a similar issue!
I have been working on a page and during the last couple of days, there was no problem looking at the preview of the site after having saved what I created.
But suddenly the page stopped showing the updates, which I created on the site.
It just doesn’t do any updating any more on there..Please help me – thank you very much!
July 31, 2023 at 2:36 pm #1415041Hey @miashia,
After making changes to your site, please make sure to clear any server-side, plugin-based, and browser caches.
If this doesn’t help, please check the login credentials once again because they didn’t work for me.
