    Hi,

    We are having some issues with a site that get this error in Agency Analytics: “Page with missing or incorrect canonical reference”.

    We can see in the source code it have this:
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://domainname.dk/forside/&#8221; />

    We have compared it with an another site that we have, where the error do not occurs.
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://domainname.dk/&#8221; />

    Our guess is that it is because it have /forside. We have looked at the setup and it is the same setup of course different design but the setup are the same.
    Can you maybe help me with why the first one get /forside in the end and how to remove it?

    /forside = /frontpage

    Hey mvi,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    Did you select or set the front page in the Enfold > Theme Options panel? If not, please set it accordingly, then reset the options in the Settings > Reading panel to default.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hello Ismael,

    The settings are the same on both site.
    Frontpage Settings > Forside
    Settings > Reading > default.

    I can provide login to the sites if you want to double check the settings?

    Hi,

    Yes, please provide the login details in the private field so that we can check the settings. Did you install an SEO plugin?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Yes we have a SEO plugin (Yoast).

    I have added the login details for you.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the login, I added a Canonical URL to the page in your Yoast SEO panel the Advanced section.
    This is the link to the Yoast documentation please clear your browser cache and check.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

    Yes i works, thank you!
    Then i have an extra question after the fix. How can it be that we need to add the URL in the Canonical URL under advanced on of the sites but not the other?

    Hi,
    This is your homepage that page is /forside/ the theme sets it’s path to domainname.dk/ but the Yoast SEO plugin sees the backend path domainname.dk/forside/ so this advanced option fixes the path, all of your other pages use their original path so this is not needed.

    Best regards,
    Mike
