Hi!
I noticed that half of my page’s text completed disappeared a few weeks ago. SO, I went in today and deleted out the weird Avia builder area, and then reput the text in through Gutenberg blocks.
And now…when I hit publish, there is no text showing on the page at all (even though everything shows up on the backend).
Here’s the page: https://www.moneyprodigy.com/allowance-for-kids/
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

VictoriaAugust 24, 2020 at 9:00 pm #1240516Yes – thanks for taking a look!
August 26, 2020 at 4:59 am #1240818Hi,
Thanks for that. Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.7.6.3) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.
Best regards,
RikardAugust 26, 2020 at 5:00 pm #1240968Thanks, Rikard! I hope you’re well?
I’m a bit nervous to do that on my own, SO, I had my hosting company backup my site.
Question: when I deactivate the current Enfold theme…will that “break” my site until I get the newly updated zip file in?
I’m talking about these instructions:
“To re-install enfold theme via the WordPress dashboard without losing data.
Go to Appearance > Themes page and first, deactivate the active enfold theme as active themes cannot be removed.
Activate the default WordPress theme.
View the theme details of the theme you like to delete and click “Delete”.
Upload a freshly downloaded copy of the theme from ThemeForest.”August 28, 2020 at 8:33 am #1241441Hi algkent,
Yes, you can do that, none of your data will be lost, just the theme files will be updated.

VictoriaAugust 28, 2020 at 3:45 pm #1241619Hi!
I’m sorry – I hit a snag.
I backed up my site (check!).
Then I went to appearance-themes, and two issues:
:: There doesn’t appear to be a depress theme (https://ibb.co/hRshDm9)
:: When I click on either “customize” or anything else on the active theme, there’s no area where I can deactivate it.Your help is appreciated.

August 30, 2020 at 2:47 pm #1241936Hi algkent,
I see you’re running Enfold 4.7.4. Is this the version that you wanted or do you need help with updating the theme to the latest?
Best regards,
VictoriaAugust 31, 2020 at 3:50 pm #1242226Hi Victoria!
They’re asking me to update to the latest version so that they can see if that’s the reason why the text on my one page has disappeared. But when I tried to do the instructions they sent, I got caught up on the two things above (no default theme to activate, and no area to deactivate the current theme).
September 1, 2020 at 7:24 am #1242390Hi algkent,
I checked on the content especially the link you gave and it seems to be mixed with enfold shortcode and gutenberg tags which I think causes it to be unreadable and the frontend is empty.
Do you have a backup which you can rollback where the contents aren’t mixed yet with gutenberg tags?Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 1, 2020 at 3:32 pm #1242538Hi Nikko,
I don’t think so. I have all the text in a word document, though.
September 2, 2020 at 9:42 am #1242741Hi algkent,
I see, I have removed the extra shortcodes and gutenberg tags in the Allowance for Kids page and it’s showing properly now.
Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 2, 2020 at 3:57 pm #1242847I appreciate that!
Unfortunately, not all of the text is showing up.
There’s another 830 words below that “Share this image”. Also, the image/chart is not showing up.
September 2, 2020 at 4:57 pm #1242866Hi Nikko,
I just went into edit a blog post, and noticed that I no longer have Gutenberg blocks. Do you know what happened to it? It’s the classic editor again (I’ve been using Gutenberg for a few months now on this site).

September 2, 2020 at 10:21 pm #1242921Hi algkent,
You can enable the Gutenberg block editor by going to Enfold Theme Options, then at the bottom you should see Select Your Editor set it to Use Block Editor

NikkoSeptember 3, 2020 at 12:12 am #1242957Thanks – that worked! I wonder why it disabled itself?
Also, that page is still missing half of the text and the graphic.
September 4, 2020 at 10:38 am #1243263Hi algkent,
I tried to fix the page, please check.
If some parts aren’t showing, please try to recreate it and let us know if they still won’t appear.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 4, 2020 at 2:38 pm #1243381Hi Nikko,
So I see that the page is in shortcode?
I just pasted all of the missing text below the shortcode into Gutenberg, and it’s not showing up. I also just noticed that all of my About page is in a shortcode box as well…why is it doing that? It’s hard to edit in a shortcode box (and I need to update my About page in the next month).
September 4, 2020 at 3:26 pm #1243399Hi algkent,
Yes, I noticed that as well, not sure yet why that’s appearing.
But if you scroll further down you’ll see the Advanced Layout Builder (for now just ignore the top with shortcodes), we’ll try to inspect on it further.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 9, 2020 at 1:22 am #1244520Hi Nikko,
For the Allowance for Kids Page – why can’t I use Gutenberg blocks to edit that page? I’d rather do that then build the page out with the Avia layout builder.
Your help is appreciated.

September 9, 2020 at 4:36 pm #1244662Hi algkent,
It does work but you’ll need to click on the Default Editor button.
I have done it on your Allowance for Kids page and used a gutenberg editor for it, you may need to tweak it a bit.
Just let us know if you need further assistance.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 9, 2020 at 5:04 pm #1244668Yayyyyy – that finally worked! All my text is now showing up, again (after I pasted the rest of it back in from my word document). Thank you SO much!
So I went into this page: https://www.moneyprodigy.com/goal-setting-for-kids-3-2/, and clicked “Default Editor Button”, and all the page’s text is still in the short code box. How do I translate that into the Gutenberg blocks like you did on the allowance for kids page?
September 10, 2020 at 6:04 am #1244750Hi algkent,
You’re welcome. :)
As for that page, just open https://www.moneyprodigy.com/goal-setting-for-kids-3-2/ in another tab/window then another for the backend.
Delete everything in it, then just copy and paste from the frontend side of that page to Gutenberg and that should work.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 14, 2020 at 4:49 pm #1245792Ahhh – got it. Thanks so much for the help!
September 15, 2020 at 4:49 am #1245906Hi algkent,
We’re glad that we could help :)
Thanks for using Enfold and have a great day!Best regards,
