Just thought I’d share something we’ve just come across using enfold to see if anyone has an answer/reason for it happening.

We’ve been working on a page for a while and were finding that if we made any change at all (even a simple text change) then updating the page, half the page was disappearing. Just vanishing, and no further updates to that page were displaying at all. It was really frustrating. We were having to make templates of the page and when it broke make a new page using the template. Then make some changes, save a template, click update, see if it broke and if so, make a new page and populate it with the template.

We noticed the page was always disappearing below a certain colour section with two columns in it, so we started looking into why and couldn’t see anything except that when viewing the advanced layout builder one of the columns wasn’t displaying all the normal edit options properly. See here to see what I mean. All the options to edit/duplicate the column are screwed up. the column next to it it appears fine, as do all the others on the page.

So we deleted the column and now the page seems to be behaving fine.

Anyone got any idea what all that was about?! I just want to know if it’s likely to happen again on other pages of this site.
We’ve looked for broken HTML and that didn’t appear to be the problem anywhere.

    Hey Thedogscreative,

If your content is disappearing when you save the page then it’s very likely that you have open html markup in your content just before the content is disappearing. Please check for anything like that. If you can’t find anything like that then please include admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look.

    <strong>Bold text closed properly</strong>

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi. Thanks for the response.

There was no broken HTML anywhere that we could see (three of us looked at it).

And would broken HTML explain the ALB looking all screwed up like in the screenshot?

    Hi Thedogscreative,

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

    Best regards,
    Victoria
