Hi All!
After a revision to a new page and selecting “Update,” all content except the special title at the top disappeared. When I tried to restore a previous version with all the content, the restore function did not work. I could see the content in the restore window, but it would not restore to that version. The change I was trying to make was to move a quote from a text box to the subtitle in a special title. I deleted some of the formatting in the subtitle window and checked for formatting that wasn’t closed. The page broke. When I deleted the content from the subtitle window, the page broke. I had to go back through many versions to find one that restored the content. I’m stumped.Would you please take a look? The page address and access to backend is in private content.

January 20, 2020 at 6:56 am #1176213Hey Valerie,
When that happens it’s almost always due to open or unclosed html markup in the content. I couldn’t see anything obvious on the page in question, but you do have a lot of markup which seem unnecessary, like this for example:
<em><span style="color: #9d7a33;">We are ready to help you with everything from a simple individual tax return to the most complex corporate financial statement.</em><span style="color: #808080;"> — </span></span></span><span style="color: #808080;">Bill Scheid</span></span></span><em><span style="color: #9d7a33;"> </span>
Could you try to clean that up a bit to see if that helps please? Also please consider updating to the latest version of the theme: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.
Best regards,

Thanks for taking a look. Re the markup, I did delete several times and still had same issues. Thought I had the most recent version of the theme. Will update and try again. Be back in touch if the problem persists.

January 20, 2020 at 4:24 pm #1176345Hi again….two questions:
1. I have a good number of downloads of Enfold, for my own website and that of clients. When I go into my Themeforest account, does it matter which Enfold I download updates from? In other words, do I have to download update files from the same license # of an individual theme that I used for a specific website?
2. In the past, I would get update notices through the theme, but now I don’t. Also, when I check for manual updates through the child theme it says I have the most current version (4.5.3) but the new one is 4.7. Can that be fixed so I get notices of new theme version?
ValerieJanuary 21, 2020 at 6:02 am #1176559Hi Valerie,
1. It doesn’t matter, the theme files are the same for all your installation. But you have to do what I refer to below.
2. In Envatos new system you have to generate tokens for your licenses, otherwise you won’t get theme update notices. Please refer to this: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

RikardJanuary 21, 2020 at 9:29 pm #1176938Thanks, Rikard. Got Envato Token and updated the theme. All seems stable now. Next question: I have been using the WP Classic Editor because a while back the Block Editor was glitchy with Gutenberg. Which editor do you recommend using with Enfold?
January 22, 2020 at 9:17 pm #1177289Hi Valerie,
Glad you got it working for you! :)
It depends on what kind of pages you want to build. Of course, the Advanced Layout Builder works better with Enfold since it’s our own editor and it has many cool components.
Here are the docs for you:
If you need further assistance please let us know.

VictoriaJanuary 23, 2020 at 4:31 pm #1177716Hi Victoria,
Thanks for the response. I already use the Advanced Layout Editor. The question was about the setting on the first page of the Child Theme Options in the “Select Your Editor” window, where the choice is “Use Block Editor,” or “Use WP Classic Editor.” I currently am using the WP Classic Editor and am wondering if there is better functionality using the Block Editor. However, there were past issues where using the Block Editor with the Gutenberg version of WP was very glitchy and content was disappearing. This was a major problem for many people. My question boils down to: What is the best “Select Your Editor” choice for the current version of Enfold?
ValerieJanuary 24, 2020 at 8:13 am #1178011Hi Valerie,
Thanks for the clarification. If you are using the Layout Builder in Enfold then it shouldn’t matter which editor you use, but there has been some problems with the Block Editor like you mentioned. The Block Editor is the new default WordPress editor which was introduced with WordPress 5.
