Not registered dependencies for Enfold css and js - Support

We adjusted the code in the functions.php file a bit,

add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', function() {
  if ( is_admin() && ! wp_style_is( 'avia-layout', 'registered' ) ) {
      wp_register_style( 'avia-layout', false );

Hi Ismael. I tested it and the debug_log on dependencies is still there. However my custom styles seem ok. On thing to notice: dependencies message is printed only when I am navigating in the back-end, not in front-end. Since the back-end is a bit slow, I wander if these messages may delay the pages speed loading.

Would you mind temporarily removing the logs? Then navigate back to the back end and check the error logs again. Do you see any references to avia-layout only, or also to avia-shortcodes?

If you’re only seeing avia-shortcodes, then try to replace the hook with this code:

I did it. Actually I tried the same thing in other websites. At a moment I thought that the problem was caused by some plugin, but I deactivated or checked in other websites I have the same thing. Also I thought it could be Enfold 7.1.3 the problem, but I found it also with Enfold 6.0.8 (on a website where I didn’t update the theme).
I am not sure what you say about shortcodes. Here is the debug log form another website all updated

prevents Enfold to select Avia elements in editing the page (I try to click on Media tab or Content Elements tab) and it is stuck.

Since updating to WordPress 6.9.1, we’re also seeing the following notice on the frontend:

▎ WP_Scripts::add was called incorrectly. The script with handle “avia-module-testimonials” was enqueued with an unregistered dependency: “avia-shortcodes”.

Is this an issue that is going to be resolved in future versions or is your hot fix from above still the way to go for the forseeable future?

A quick analysis
Root cause: In class-shortcode-template.php, extra_asset_check() is hooked to wp (priority 10). Inside, extra_assets() in testimonials.php calls wp_enqueue_script() for both avia-module-slideshow and avia-module-testimonials, both with avia-shortcodes as a dependency.

At that point, avia-shortcodes hasn’t been registered yet — it only gets registered in avia_register_frontend_scripts(), which runs on wp_enqueue_scripts (a hook that fires after wp).

WordPress 6.9.1 added a strict check for unregistered dependencies, surfacing this long-standing timing issue. Other shortcode modules using the same pattern (e.g.avia-module-slideshow in slideshow_fullsize.php) are likely affected as well.

Fix suggestion: Either move extra_asset_check() to wp_enqueue_scripts, or register avia-shortcodes earlier (e.g. on wp at priority 1) so it’s available before shortcode assets are enqueued.
