I need to upgrade theme without losing our site layout and contentFebruary 9, 2019 at 8:34 am #1064888Hey jdevoll,
Thanks for the login details, I see that you are running a very old version which is not compatible with current versions of WordPress. Please try to update to 4.5.3. The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
Also please read this thread after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/updating-to-enfold-4-5-and-validating-personal-token/
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 10, 2019 at 4:11 am #1065042I did update manually using ftp. Why did it not update?
February 11, 2019 at 6:29 am #1065302Hi,
I’m not sure, what exactly did you do? If you would like help then please post FTP login details in private as well along with a confirmation that you have backups of the site.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 11, 2019 at 2:52 pm #1065443Hello,
I have the same problem.. blank pages in edit after update but it’s something that occurs often after updates. This time, I’m getting this message as well which makes no sense as no special characters etc are involved. The page is visible in text and on the frontpage but not editing. Thanks
It seems you are currently adding some HTML markup or other special characters. Once all HTML tags are closed the preview will be available again. If this message persists please check your input for special characters and try to remove them.
February 11, 2019 at 5:58 pm #1065536By disabling the WPML translation management plugin (not ideal), the text is now visible in visual editing, however, only the enfold classic editor is now showing. All these issues are caused by the latest Enfold update.
February 11, 2019 at 8:54 pm #1065661The only page with the Avia layout builder visible in edit is the homepage
February 12, 2019 at 7:03 am #1065794Hi Simplequery,
Please open a new thread and include admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look at your site. The details you posted here are not working.

RikardFebruary 13, 2019 at 4:13 am #1066197I deleted the enfold theme, reinstalled it and it is still blank.

v. 4519990
February 13, 2019 at 9:11 am #1066326Hi jdevoll,
You are still running a very old version of the theme, that is the likely cause of your problems. We can help you to update but we need FTP login details for that, and a confirmation that you have backups of the site.

February 13, 2019 at 9:18 pm #1066646doesn’t work on the other site – studentreach.org after update
February 14, 2019 at 10:29 am #1066876Hi,
I see that you are running 4.5.4 on studentreach.org, I’m guessing you managed to get it working? You can always download the latest version of the theme from Themeforest, and you can verify that version by opening up style.css.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 14, 2019 at 2:50 pm #1066978Actually, it’s not working. The site doesn’t load (as I said above).
February 15, 2019 at 8:34 am #1067344Hi,
I cleared the cache from your caching plugin and it’s loading fine on my end after that. Here’s a guide to when not to use a caching plugin.

VictoriaMarch 1, 2019 at 8:02 pm #1073367we are still having problems. we’ve been doing testing and as of today:
stuck at “loading” screeen on Chrome on Mac in regular or incognito mode
stuck at “loading” screeen on Chrome on pc in regular or incognito mode
stuck at “loading” screeen on Firefox on pc in regular or incognito mode
stuck at “loading” screeen on android chrome on pc in regular or incognito mode
stuck at “loading” screeen on iphone chrome on pc in regular or incognito modeit does sometimes work –
the WP Super Cache plugin is disabled in wp
sometimes activating it and deleting the cache will make it load once or twice on pc in incognito mode (which i just did and it worked, but it won’t stay that way)March 3, 2019 at 9:03 am #1073857Hi jdevoll,
Your site loaded on my end the first time but not after reloading, there are a few error messages on the page but I’m not sure what is causing it. Did you try to disable all plugins to see if there is a conflict coming from any of them? Also make sure that all caching or minification, including the one in the theme options, are turned off.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 3, 2019 at 4:52 pm #1073973The caching plug-ins in the theme itself are enabled.
I have tried disabling all plug-ins.
Everything was completely functional before the theme update.
Please see all login information in previous posts.March 5, 2019 at 8:57 pm #1075066Any update?
March 5, 2019 at 8:59 pm #1075067I really, really need a solution to this problem. Our entire organization runs on this website.
March 6, 2019 at 9:02 pm #1075626Hi jdevoll,
Credentials did not work for me. Could you please update the credentials?
Please refrain from replying to your own thread because it gets pushed back to the end of the queue and moderators won’t be able to provide a response immediately. Please be patient while we go through the rest of the queue. Thank you for your understanding.

March 11, 2019 at 3:19 am #1077180Hi,
We would like to apologize for the confusion and for the lack of explanation. There is an error related to the page preloader, so we had to disable that option temporarily. The site is loading consistently now but there are a few errors remaining. Have you tried disabling the plugins again?
Best regards,
