    Hello,

    can you please help me with the Enfold 4.5 Update. My Version is 4.4.1 and i don´t want to get into trouble with my website while updating. The last time i tried to make an update, the website was not working anymore. Thank you in advance.

    Hi everyone,

    Sorry for the problems. The update problem should be fixed in the latest release, which is 4.5. It’s not working if you are running 4.4.1, since the fix was included in the current release. If you should need help updating to 4.5 then please open your own threads and include WordPress admin login details and FTP details in private.

    This problem was not caused by us, there was a change in the Envato API which changed the way they handle automatic update.

    thank you for your answer. I made a backup with updraft. But i hope you get it done without any faulures nevertheless ;-)

    Hi Timo,

    Thanks for that, I tried uploading via WordPress but the server is timing out unfortunately. I tried via FTP as well but the details are not working, could you check and verify please? The site is running TwentySeventeen right now so you might want to restore that backup you took.

    If you want to update yourself via FTP then you can simply drop the unzipped theme folder into the themes folder on your installation: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update

    Hello Rikard,

    what is the problem with enfold updates since some time? All of the last updates caused trouble! And why did you install twenty seventeen theme on my site? I only wanted you to install the new version of enfold. I reinstalled the enfold child theme now. What is the best way to get the latest version of enfold?

    Hi Timo,

    Sorry for the trouble. There has been some problems with the latest versions yes, but all of them are fixed in 4.5. I activated Twentyseventeen since I needed to delete the old Enfold version, you can’t do that if the theme is active. I would have updated via FTP instead but the details didn’t work as I mentioned. If you just post working FTP login details in private then we will do the update for you.

    Hi Rikard,

    the FTP login i gave to you is correct. I don´t know why you have problems using it. Please try again. I checked it and it is working with Filezilla.
    But please be careful. The website must not be deactivated or destroyed in any case, because it is my active member area. So please verify that all is ok after you made the update via FTP. Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

    Glad we could help :-)

    Future update should work as usual, this problem occurred since Envato made changes to their API and that’s why the update needed to be done manually.
