Hello!
After testing the cookies on a default WP installation without any plugins I discovered Enfold sets a cookie when the site is entered by a visitor. The name of the cookie is PHPSESSID and results from the Enfold theme – the default WP themes doesn´t set any cookie.
I have looked in the forum to see what I can do about this, but unfortunately I could not find the solution.
Can you give me the correct answer? I only use the Enfolt theme version: 4.5.1
Kind regards Silvio
July 26, 2019 at 5:22 am #1122067Hey Silvio van de ven,
Sorry for the problem. Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.5.7) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.
Best regards,

I have updated my Enfold theme to 4.5.7. but the Cookkie problem is still not solved. So in short my website stays very slow and the PHPSESSID cookie is still active in the tests.
Hopefully you have more tips what I could do, because my webhoster just sent me the last update below.Kind Regards
Good morning Silvio,
I just looked with Bas at the caching problem.
We have confirmed that the PHPSESSID cookie is set by the Enfold Theme.
You will have to ask the creators of the theme whether this can be switched off or the performance will lag behind.August 5, 2019 at 1:22 am #1124602Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Why would it slow down the page? Creating session is a default PHP feature. It’s a way to store information same as a cookie, but the data is only available until the user close the browser.
If you want to disable any sessions from the theme, add this filter in the functions.php file.
current_theme_supports('avia_no_session_support')
This will affect the breadcrumb.
Best regards,

Cache flushed and checked but the cookie still seems to be there.
I tried the solution but the cookie is still set.
So the problem for your performance is the conflict with Varnish. My website is not visible on the first page of Google anymore, because of this issue.
Please help me.
Silvio V
If you wont to check this on my website I’ll will give you the credentials.
