    I have the latest version of the theme and wordpress, but I cannot get the social icons I have defined to display in the footer, they show in the header, but not footer?
    I tried you Quick CSS fix but that did not work.

    You have the footer.php file in your child theme? Did you have it updated with a fresh copy?
