Hello,
From another thread I posted that the MailChimp widget does not appear on the website even though the settings seems fine, API Key is accepted and fields are displayed in the widget.
I was requested to post login data in a new thread so here it is.Iain

June 24, 2023 at 2:58 pm #1411555Hi,
Thanks for the login, I updated your site to v5.6.3 and now your Mailchimp Available Lists are showing in the Enfold Theme Options ▸ Newsletter ▸ Mailchimp ▸ Available Lists please check.Best regards,
MikeJune 24, 2023 at 10:28 pm #1411577OK, looking better.
I am able to preview the signup form now…doing some testing my signup email addresses are not add to the mailchimp list – is this because I am in preview mode?thanks,
IainJune 24, 2023 at 11:17 pm #1411581Hi,
Perhaps, the email field is showing in the theme options and on my test site it shows on the frontend for a published page, try editing the element again and saving again to reload it, if this doesn’t work then publish the page and check again.Best regards,
MikeJune 26, 2023 at 6:23 am #1411690Hello,
It looks like it is partially working. Using the Mailchimp settings for “Enable double Opt-in” (default) it all looks to work. I get the emails, subscribe, email address is added to the MailChimp audience. But I decided I did not want that option and unchecked it. Thereafter, there’s no confirmation email and the email address is not added to the Mailchimp “Audience” list. BUT, if I try to sign up with the same email address again, there’s an error message that “This email address is already subscribed, thank you!”
I’ve opened a support case with Mailchimp to see if the issue is on their side.thanks,
Iain
June 26, 2023 at 6:34 am #1411691and, just as i post this, I see the a confirmation email arrive in the inbox, lol. For some reason this took several hours
But, this should not be the case as the confirmation email option is offJune 26, 2023 at 12:05 pm #1411724Hi,
Mailchimp will not let you sign up with the same email twice, this is Mailchimp and not the theme.Best regards,
MikeJune 26, 2023 at 3:10 pm #1411736Signing up the same email twice is not the issue,
The current status is that a sign-up confirmation email is being sent even though that option is switched off in the campaign settings.June 26, 2023 at 6:17 pm #1411750Hi,
The theme’s mailchimp element doesn’t have an option to send a sign-up confirmation email, this is controlled by your mailchimp account.
I tested this on my test site and my mailchimp account and didn’t receive a confirmation email, so if you are then ask the mailchimp support team to check.Best regards,
MikeJune 29, 2023 at 10:55 pm #1412110This is the response from Mailchimp:
“Opt-in settings only apply to signup forms created in Mailchimp. If you are using a third party signup form app or integration, this will set its own opt-in rules and will ignore the opt-in setting of your audience.
We recommend checking with the developers of that app, plugin or extension to see if they offer the option to alter the signup form’s opt-in setting. Alternatively, you can look into using a Mailchimp form.”This would explain why the Opt-In email setting is getting ignored. Looks like the theme integration has this switched on?

June 30, 2023 at 12:53 am #1412120Hi,
Do you have the option Double opt-in enabled?
Is the email you are receiving a request to confirm the email address?Best regards,
MikeJune 30, 2023 at 4:56 pm #1412187The opt-in and associated reCAPTCHA option are both switched off, i already reported this as the problem
The email received is a confirmation email for the sign upJuly 1, 2023 at 1:13 pm #1412205Hi,
When I check your page I see that you have the Double opt-in enabled, if you don’t want the confirmation email sent, please disabled this feature.
I originally thought that you were refuring to a “welcome” email confirmation, so I asked the Dev Team if the recent changes could be triggering this and they said no.
When I test on my demo site with the Double opt-in disabled, I receive no emails, since my Mailchimp account setting do not have a “welcome” email confirmation enabled. This is not overridden by the theme.
When I test on my demo site with the Double opt-in enabled I receive a Please Confirm Subscription from Mailchimp, this is the correct behavior since the Double opt-in is enabled.
Best regards,
MikeJuly 1, 2023 at 5:01 pm #1412214Ahh! I was looking inside of Mailchimp itself, I didn’t realize that there was also an option in the widget itself.
thanks!,
Iain
