Lightbox Opening in new tab

I have tried extensively to resolve this issue but do not know what else to do – the lightbox feature on our website is messed up. For example, when you go into a portfolio gallery and click the large featured image, instead of the lightbox popping it up on the screen, it takes you to a new page with the static image. I am not a coder, do no work in the child theme, and just know the basics for web design on WordPress so my knowledge is limited on what I can do. I know that the new WooCommerce had an update that has interfered with the lightbox feature recently, and we do use that plugin, but I am not familiar enough with coding to try the changes Ive read about. Any suggestions?
