Hi all,
I have siteground/enfold.
I optimized all the site on late february with SVG optmizer pulgin (cache, minify javascript, CSS, CDN clouflare, webp image format for mobile). After the optmization I was able to get a rate of 90 on mobile google page speed and A grade on GTmetrix LTE access. After one month and half I’m getting a rate of 50 mobile google page speed and E grade on GTmetrix LTE access (If you want I can share with you the reports). The LCP for mobile is very high (more than 9 on mobile google page speed). It was 1.5 months ago.
I didn’t add new plugins and I didn’t do changes. I only did the upgrades.I started to receive error messages on google search console. LCP high more than 2.5 sec on all the pages.
Can you help understanding why the LCP grew until 9? Does it depend on enfold/PHP upgrades?

Thank you for the inquiry.
The compressed and minified scripts and stylesheets produced by siteground-optimizer is probably doing more harm than good. You might want to disable the plugin’s compression settings and use other minification plugins such as Autoptimize. Make sure to set the Enfold > Performance > Disabling of template builder elements settings to Load only used elements to decrease the resource that the server has to load and improve the overall page performance.

I disabled all the options on SG Optimizer Front-end optimization. I checked Performance under enfold. The settings are correct.
But I still have the issue of LCP 10s on mobile access. If you check with google page inside, it reports that the issue is the first image (even if it is webp compressed). Can you help me?
thanksMay 27, 2021 at 6:44 am #1302528Hi,
We ran a test again on the page speed insights tool and found out that the stylesheets are still combined using the SG Optimizer’s option. We recommend disabling that option temporarily because it is blocking rendering by about 900ms, longer on the previous test. It also combines a lot of unused css code.

We also tested the site on gtmetrix and it returns a much more favorable result with LCP for only about 2.5s.

Have you tried using the Autoptimize plugin? And as suggested above, you can enable the Load only used elements option to improve the page speed. This should also improve LCP by significant amount.
