I have recently updated a site for a client. It was stuck on v4.4.1 from when you changed the method of auto updating the theme. I have updated to the latest version of WordPress, uploaded the latest version of Enfold, and updated the PHP on the webhost. Yet still the home edit page won’t open the layout builder so I can’t change the content. The other pages can be edited no problem.

I have deactivated plugins, tried to edit in a fresh browser so no caching issues, but still the loader spins and never loads the edit page. This is very frustrating, and very unexpected with this theme. Can you tell me what has caused this issue and how to fix it?

    Thanks.

    Hi drennand,

Can you give us temporary admin access and FTP access? so we can check on the backend and the files and try to figure out the error and fix it.
Just post the credentials in private content.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi,

Thanks for the login details, I can’t see a URL to your site though? Please include that in private as well, and enable debug mode, so that we can copy your front page content to a test page: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode

    Best regards,

    Hi drennand,

Thanks for giving us admin access.
This is now fixed on your homepage however I have to remove Copy translation text in your services.
It seems to trigger a 403 forbidden error when the word translation is added.
You can try to request your hosting provider to allow this word, then re-add it to your page.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi

Thanks for fixing this. Can you tell me what the problem was in case it recurrs here or on another site?

The ‘Copy translation’ problem seems odd as it has been there for a few years with no problems, and I’ve never had a 403 error show up even recently when I couldn’t edit the page.

    Best regards

    Hi drennand,

I believe that it may have triggered when the PHP version is updated.
You can check this on our documentation: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-layout-builder/#layout-builder-is-not-loading-properly then go directly to Troubleshoot: Text Block element not loading.
Contacting your webhost to whitelist this word should fix the issue.

    Best regards,
    Nikko
