    Hello – the layersliders we are using on our home page and throughout our site are loading twice and then failing to operate correctly. There should be layers of text sliding in but there are not – the transition to the next slide should not reveal a blank. There should be 5 slides.

    We have a development site with an exact copy of the database and the web files and it works perfectly. Can you tell me why it is failing at the URL I am providing below?

    Please let me know if you want to see the failure to help diagnose – but for now I am putting it back to the simplified layerslider that doesn’t show the entire failure – however it does load twice – which is an indicator that something is hosed.

    Why are these layersliders looking for shadow.png in the directory indicated below? It does not exist in that location.

    /wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/static/layerslider/skins/fullwidth/shadow.png 404 (Not Found)

    After playing with settings and switching out various layersliders on various pages and resaving layersliders – and resaving the settings in ENFOLD Child Theme Options with various settings… it started working for no apparent reason. Something was out of sync between old and updated versions and with enough jostling it fixed itself. My guess.

    The page is jumping and flashing. It looks like the layerslider loads twice. ??

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delay. Did you install any kind of image optimzation plugin with lazy load option? Please try to disable the lazy load and cache plugin temporarily. Let us know if it changes anything.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

    It seems to be an issue with the theme’s Performance > File Compression settings. The slider doesn’t blink when the compression is disabled. Please keep the option disabled for now and try to use one of the following plugins instead.

    Thank you! The Layerslider is working great now. Much thanks for fixing an issue that has plagued our site for a long time.

    I will try the plugins you recommended.

    In the performance module, the theme is recommending image optimization plugins and caching plugins. Based on your experience with our site do you think we need these plugins? I don’t want to install them unless they will make a noticeable difference.

    Hi,

    The site contains a number of images, so having an image optimization plugin will be of big help to optimize the page speed as well as serving pages from cache. We recommend the the plugins listed in the Performance panel. It’s common nowadays to have those two types of plugin in any site — image optimizer and cache plugins.
