    Hi there,
I have a strange issue I can’t seem to solve at a development site https://websitesforgood.com/CWAM
My first issue was receiving the red Outdated JQuery error message. I am running Enfold 4.5.4 with a reasonably fresh install and a child theme, so I couldn’t figure out how to make that go away.
    Wordpress 5.2 just kicked in.
As a last resort I installed JQuery Updater, which solved the problem.
But with JQuery Updater running, my submenus drop behind the slideshow and can’t be seen. I have tried this CSS and it doesn’t help:

    .container_wrap { z-index: 1!important; }

As soon as I deactivate JQuery Updater, the menus behave themselves.
Can you recommend some other way to get both the layerslider and the submenus working again?
Including an admin login if it helps to solve this. Thanks so much guys.

    Hey mterrianrode,

First off, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.5.7) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. Also please deactivate the jQuery updater plugin, the theme should be fully functional with the default version of jQuery.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hello Rikard,
I have installed 4.5.7 via the dashboard and the issue is still the same. You can see the error message below at https://websitesforgood.com/CWAM:

    LayerSlider: Old jQuery issue
It looks like you are using an old version (1.7.1) of the jQuery library. LayerSlider requires at least version 1.8.0 or newer. Please update jQuery to 1.10.x or higher. Important: Please do not use the jQuery Updater plugin on WordPress as it can cause issues in certain cases.

This is with the JQuery Updater deactivated. If I activate it, the layerslider works but the submenu still does not appear (on any page) Do you have other suggestions to make the menu behave properly other than the CSS of my original post?

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, but that version of jQuery is not the default either. Are you importing it manually from somewhere maybe? The link in private is not coming from the theme. The layer slider works fine with the default jQuery version in WordPress. Also, why are you using caching on a development site?

    Best regards,
    Rikard
