    Hi

I can’t get into Layerslider – I get a message: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 300417024)

I was working fine for ages and then suddenly it is not. I have put in 512MB in the config file and I have also contacted the host provider and they have assured me that the limit is up to 512MB but it is not working in Layerslider. Everything else seems fine.

    many thanks

    Peter

    Hi Peter,

    Thanks for contacting us!

Which version of Enfold are you using? We have not received such report lately but we have included LayerSlider 7.0.5 in Enfold 4.8.8 so if you are using the latest version of the theme, I guess the issue might be related to LayerSlider 7.0.5. If you are not using Enfold 4.8.8, please firstly try updating and check if that helps :)

    Hi Yigit

I am using 4.8.8. I have tried the same set up – ie using 4.8.8 with exactly the same host and hosting package – and it is working fine and this one was working fine too until suddenly it wasn’t.

    Hey,

Could you please try de-activating all active plugins and check if that helps?

    Cheers!

    Hi P,

Could you please create temporary admin logins and post them here privately so we can look into it?

    Hi,

I cannot see what is causing the issue. Memory limit seems to be 512M as you mentioned. Could you please try upgrading PHP version to 8 and check if that makes a difference?

    Regards,
    Yigit

    Hi Yigit

Yes, I’ve updated to version 8 but I’m not seeing any difference

    Hi
Any more thoughts on this? Should I reinstall the theme?

    many thanks

    Hi Peter,

I have already tried re-installing Enfold and WordPress but neither helped. I asked my teammates to check this thread.

    Best regards,

    Hey!

We set the installation to debug mode temporarily and enabled the errors logs but we cannot find any meaningful info aside from the exhausted memory limit. We also noticed that you have installed the Search & Replace plugin. Did you adjust some entries in the database? You might have accidentally altered the layer slider entries, which caused the error.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Cheers!

    Hi Ismael

I haven’t changed anything in the database but I was wondering if that was the problem. The only thing I could think of is that this issue could have something to do with the fact that the domain name was changed for this site from sogandb.com to sogandbahram.com. So I installed the search and replace plugin to see if there was anything with sogandb.com leftover in the database. But when I try to use the Search and Replace to search for sogandb.com I get all sorts of warnings and fatal error messages. If you try the Search and Replace yourself you will see what I mean I think.

    many thanks

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

How did you change the domain name? You might have to manually query the database and replace the domain name in every entries.

    // https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/wordpress-search-and-replace/#5-run-a-find-and-replace-mysql-query-with-phpmyadmin

Make sure to create a site backup before doing the query.

You can also try this plugin.

    Hi Ismael

I changed the domain name by changing the references to the old domain via the options table in PHPmyadmin. This has worked fine in the past and seemed to have worked here for a while.

    Hi,

Do you still have a copy of the site or a copy of the database before adjusting the domain name? You may need to restore the site to that point and make sure that the domain name instances in the layerslider table are also adjusted. Or just search for the domain name entries again in the layerslider table and replaced them with the current name.

    The following threads might help.

    Hi Ismael

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I don’t have a copy of the database pre name change. At this stage I am wondering whether it is possible to just delete Layerslider and all its database entries and reinstall it fresh as I have most of the key sliders exported and I could import them anew?

    many thanks

    Peter

    #1333994

    Hi,

Yes, that should be possible. Just create a new Enfold installation, export the _layerslider table, then import it to the actual site. Hopefully, it will fix the issue with the layer slider. You may need to import a demo first if the _layerslider table does not exist.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael

Just to let you know, that worked ok. I deleted the layerslider tables in the database and imported a demo one and started again with the Layerslider.

Thanks for your help and happy new year.
